What city-level AI visibility tracking costs per city (2026)

We priced the same local workload, 20 prompts per city, across Promptwatch, Local Falcon, BrightLocal, Synup, AIrketing and AIShortlist. The cheapest per city is not the cheapest per answer you can act on.

Local GEO pricing is built to be hard to compare. One vendor charges per grid point, another per business location, another per prompt, another per response. So we picked one workload and priced it everywhere: 20 prompts per city, run as often as each tool's plan allows, then divided the plan price by the number of cities it can hold.

All prices come from the tool entries in our directory, read between 14 and 20 October 2026. Promptwatch figures come from its published plan sheet. Where a vendor doesn't publish a price, we say so rather than estimate.

Promptwatch: limited by prompts on brand plans, by responses on agency plans

Promptwatch runs prompts daily, and you choose the models per monitor. We assumed three models. One prompt on one model on one day is one response, so a city with 20 prompts uses about 1,800 responses a month (20 x 3 x 30). Treating the response allowance as monthly:

PlanPriceBinding limitCities at 20 promptsPer city
Business$579/mo350 prompts17about $34
Kick-off (agency)$199/mo10,000 responses5about $40
Growth (agency)$399/mo25,000 responses13about $31
Scale (agency)$799/mo65,000 responses36about $22

On Business, prompts belong to a monitor, so the same question in 17 city monitors counts as 17 prompts. That's why the 350-prompt cap binds before the 42,000 responses do. Agency plans have unlimited prompts, so responses are the ceiling. Drop to two models and each agency plan fits about 50% more cities.

Essential ($95/mo) and Professional ($245/mo) are country-level only and can't run this workload at all.

Local Falcon: cheap per city, if the grid stays small

Local Falcon charges one credit per grid point. We used a 7x7 grid (49 points), weekly, on one AI platform: 20 x 49 x 4 = 3,920 credits per location a month.

PlanPriceCreditsLocationsPer location
Starter$24.99/mo7,5001$24.99
Basic$49.99/mo15,1503about $17
Pro$99.99/mo31,2507about $14
Premium$199.99/mo63,15016about $12.50

That's the lowest per-location cost here, with two caveats. It's weekly and one platform. Local Falcon lists the number of platforms as a usage driver, so budget for more credits per extra platform. And a grid is centred on an address, so it measures neighbourhoods around a location you have, not a city you sell into.

BrightLocal and Synup: priced per storefront

BrightLocal Local AI Visibility includes 20 prompts per location on three engines. Track costs $41/mo for one location, or $62/mo for two to five, about $12.40 each at five. It's bundled with BrightLocal's local SEO suite, so the AI part is effectively free if you use the rest.

Synup AEO writes 16 prompts per location and refreshes monthly on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Solo is $49/mo for one location. Premium is $299/mo for up to 10 (about $30 each), Pro $499/mo for 25 (about $20), Scale $899/mo for 50 (about $18). Listings, reviews and social come with it.

AIrketing and AIShortlist: small budgets, weekly data

AIrketing puts a city on each prompt, so 20 prompts in six cities is 120 prompts. Business at €79/mo (130 prompts) covers six cities, about €13 each. Agencia at €129/mo (240 prompts) covers 12, under €11 each. Runs are weekly.

AIShortlist ties one city to each question set. Growth at $199/mo has two sets and 50 questions, so two cities at about $100 each. It's built for one market, not many.

The ones you can't price

Birdeye Search AI doesn't publish prices and meters one prompt as one query on one engine for one location. Birdeye's own example, 25 locations on 3 engines with 15 prompts monthly, already comes to 1,125 prompts a month. Yext Scout is custom and bundled into Yext deals. Reputation gives its AI module free to Business Listings customers, with Rep Core listed at $80 per location per month. Uberall GEO Studio has location-level tracking from Scale at $449/mo with 150 prompts, but our entry doesn't document how location prompts are counted, so we can't divide it.

What the per-city number hides

On price alone, Local Falcon and the per-storefront suites win. But the workloads aren't equal. Promptwatch is the only one in this table running daily, on as many models as you choose (eleven are available), in cities where you don't need an address.

The bigger gap is what you get per city beyond the score. A falling city in Local Falcon or Synup tells you that it fell. In Promptwatch the same workspace shows which sources the answer switched to, whether AI crawlers stopped reaching that city's page (Agent Analytics), and whether AI-referred visitors from that market still converted. If you'd otherwise buy a second tool for crawler logs and attribution, the per-city comparison flips.

For agencies the arithmetic points to Kick-off or Growth. For a brand with up to 17 cities, Business. Price your own city list at promptwatch.com before you sign up for a per-location contract.
