Promptwatch vs Local Falcon (2026): city-level prompts or geo-grid AI scans?

Local Falcon maps AI recommendations point by point around one address. Promptwatch tracks the same prompts city by city, daily, and adds crawler logs and conversions. Pricing, limits and who should pick which.

These two tools answer different local questions, and buyers mix them up because both say "location." Local Falcon asks: inside my service area, at which points does AI recommend me? Promptwatch asks: in Austin, in Dallas and in Houston, does AI recommend me for the questions my buyers type, and what happens after? One is a microscope on a single address. The other is a ledger across markets.

How each one samples

Local Falcon runs AI scans the way it runs Google Maps scans. You pick an address, a keyword, a grid size and a radius. It then sends the prompt from every point on that grid, anywhere from 3x3 (9 points) to 21x21 (441 points). Its knowledge base suggests an 11x11 grid to start, with a 2-mile radius in cities, 5 in suburbs and 10 in rural areas. Platforms are ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Grok.

Promptwatch sets location on a monitor: a country, an optional state, an optional city, a language and a persona. Every prompt in that monitor runs with those settings, daily, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, AI Overviews and AI Mode. For a second city you copy the monitor and change one field. The grain is the city, not the street corner.

What the reports show

Local Falcon gives Share of AI Voice (the share of grid points where you're mentioned), a Buyer Persuasion Score from -10 to +10, the exact phrases AI uses about you with sentiment, the sources it drew on and the competitors it named. You can run the same keyword on Google Maps and compare AI share with map share, which local SEO teams like. Falcon AI writes a prioritised analysis for 25 credits a report.

Promptwatch reports visibility and rank per prompt with trends that show what changed between checks, plus prompt volumes, difficulty and query fan-outs. Citation analytics go to page and domain level and down to Reddit and YouTube threads. That's useful locally, because a city answer can lean on a local publisher or a subreddit you aren't on.

Where the comparison tips

Local Falcon stops at the answer. The vendor pages we read don't describe AI crawler logs, AI-referred traffic or conversion tracking.

Promptwatch keeps going. Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and other AI crawlers hitting your site, with a crawl-to-citation path and error tracking. If the Houston location page returns errors to PerplexityBot, that's visible. Visitor analytics, via a small script or a GTM template, ties AI-referred visits to conversions and breaks visitors down by location. From Business, the Content Agent can draft the missing city page, hold it in a review inbox and publish to WordPress, Webflow or Framer.

Pricing

Local Falcon sells credits, and one credit is one grid point.

Local FalconMonthlyCredits
Starter$24.997,500
Basic$49.9915,150
Pro$99.9931,250
Premium$199.9963,150

Every plan has unlimited keywords and locations, and new accounts get 100 free credits without a card. Monthly credits expire at the end of each cycle. The math is what to watch: 10 keywords on a 9x9 grid, four times a month, uses 3,240 credits for one location on one platform. Falcon AI reports and extra platforms add more.

Promptwatch prices by plan. City and state tracking are included from Business at $579/mo (5 projects, 350 prompts, 42,000 responses, 100M crawler logs, 10M visitor events) and on every agency plan: Kick-off $199/mo, Growth $399/mo and Scale $799/mo, each with unlimited projects and prompts and 10 seats. Essential ($95/mo) and Professional ($245/mo) are country-level only, so don't buy those for a city program. Annual billing gives 12 months for the price of 10.

Who should pick which

Pick Local Falcon if you run a single location, or a handful, and the business question is neighbourhood coverage. A dental practice that wants to know why AI stops recommending it two miles north is the textbook case. It's cheap to try and the map makes sense to clients at a glance.

Pick Promptwatch if you compete in several cities, or sell into cities where you don't have an address, and you need to explain movement rather than just observe it. The daily refresh, the wider engine list and the fixed prompt wording across city monitors make the numbers comparable. Crawler logs and conversions answer the follow-up question every client asks: did it matter?

Some agencies run both: Local Falcon for street-level maps on a few flagship stores, Promptwatch for the city ledger and the reporting. If you only buy one, buy the one that can tell you why a city dropped. That's Promptwatch. Agency Kick-off includes city tracking and a 7-day trial.
