Our verdict

ZeroRank is no longer the three-engine tracker of the August 2026 sheet. At $39 a month it runs all 17 platforms with unlimited seats and an MCP server, and its workflows take a lost answer to an approved WordPress or Webflow change. That is a lot of product for the price. The gaps are measurement depth: no server-side crawler logs, AI traffic read through Google Analytics, and no shopping or ad tracking. When the job is proving why an engine cites you and what it earns, Promptwatch is the platform that publishes those layers.

Best for: Small teams and agencies that want broad engine coverage, unlimited seats and an approval-gated content workflow at a low entry price, and can live with Google Analytics as the traffic source and no crawler logs.

ZeroRank (zerorank.ai) runs your prompts against live AI models and reads the answers back: whether your brand is named, its rank in the answer, sentiment, and every source the answer cited. A Chats view keeps the full answer text per model, and Sources breaks citations down by domain, URL and domain type (corporate, editorial, UGC, reference). Prompt Research turns a topic, a competitor domain or a question into prompt ideas with an estimated monthly AI search volume, and Google volume where the keyword data has it. On top of the tracking sit recommendations, a conversational Copilot, AI article generation and optimization, and Agentic Workflows: trigger-based flows, for example when a tracked answer drops you, that pull the sources cited instead, draft a fix and post it to Slack or push it to WordPress or Webflow after approval.

Pricing on zerorank.ai/pricing (read 28 October 2026): Starter $39/mo, Growth $199/mo (marked most popular), Agency $499/mo and custom Enterprise. Plans are sized by a monthly budget of AI answers (2,400, 13,500 and 31,500), plus Prompt Research runs, article generations, content optimizations and workspaces (1, up to 10, unlimited). Every plan lists all 17 AI platforms, unlimited prompts, countries and seats, daily, weekly, monthly or on-demand runs, shareable client dashboards, and MCP server plus REST API access. The page offers a full report on your domain before you enter a card. This replaces the August 2026 sheet ($89 Starter, $199 Pro).

ZeroRank connects to Google Analytics for an AI Traffic report and checks robots.txt, llms.txt and what AI crawlers get back from your pages. It does not publish server-side AI crawler logs, and its AI traffic is read from Google Analytics, which the vendor itself calls a lower bound. ChatGPT Shopping, sponsored-ad tracking, personas and city-level tracking are not on its published pages. Those are the layers where Promptwatch's platform picks up.

Plans: one answer budget, all platforms

Source: zerorank.ai/pricing, read 28 October 2026. Starter is $39 a month for up to 2,400 AI answers, 10 Prompt Research runs, 2 article generations and 2 content optimizations, and 1 workspace. Growth is $199 for 13,500 answers, 50 research runs, 12 plus 12 content credits and up to 10 workspaces. Agency is $499 for 31,500 answers, 150 research runs, 36 plus 36 and unlimited workspaces. Enterprise is custom. The page did not show yearly prices in the text we captured.

ZeroRank's own worked examples assume three standard models. Starter covers 26 prompts daily, 160 weekly or 800 monthly; Growth 150, 900 or 4,500; Agency 350, 2,100 or 10,500. Scheduled and manual runs share one budget across workspaces, and higher-cost models use more of it. Every plan lists unlimited prompts, countries and seats, all 17 platforms, shareable dashboards, and MCP plus REST API. The rest of the feature list (white-label, emailed reports, agentic workflows, SSO, a dedicated rep) appears on every card in the page text. The agentic-workflows page says workflows, MCP and API are on every paid plan; the June 2026 changelog limited white-label dashboards to the then Pro plan. Ask which you get.

From tracking to a shipped fix

The tracking layer reads live answers and keeps them. Each prompt shows visibility, sentiment, average rank and the brands named next to you, and the Chats view keeps the answer word for word with its sources. Sources groups citations by domain and URL and labels the domain type, so a Reddit thread and a G2 page land in different buckets. Prompt Research, shipped in July 2026, adds estimated AI search volume per prompt idea, Google volume where it exists, a 12-month trend and Search Console signals once connected.

The fix layer is where ZeroRank has grown fastest. Recommendations rank on-page and off-page actions by how many tracked prompts they touch. Copilot, a chat over your data since August 2026, drafts a change as a diff against the live page, and nothing publishes until someone approves it. Agentic Workflows chain steps such as finding the sources an answer cited instead, scoring the gap, drafting a brief and posting it to Slack, with templates for FAQ blocks, content briefs, forum replies, translations and blog posts built from a YouTube video. With WordPress or Webflow connected, an approved change ships itself. The MCP server gained write tools in July 2026, so an AI client can manage prompts and tags directly.

Where it stops

AI Traffic, added in July 2026, reads Google Analytics: sessions, engagement and conversions from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Meta AI and You.com, joined to the pages your tracked answers cite. ZeroRank says plainly that Google reports AI Overviews clicks as organic and Copilot as bing.com, so the number is a lower bound, and that the data can lag up to 48 hours. The technical analysis checks robots.txt, llms.txt and what each AI crawler gets back, which is a readiness test rather than a log of real bot visits.

Promptwatch publishes the layers underneath. Agent Analytics logs real AI crawler hits from Cloudflare, CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN or custom HTTP, with a crawl-to-citation path and error tracking. Visitor analytics run on its own script or GTM template and tie AI-referred sessions to conversions. From Business it adds ChatGPT Shopping, Ads Radar and state and city tracking. Promptwatch's own Explore plan is free, Essential is $95/mo and Professional, the first plan with crawler logs, is $245/mo.

Frequently asked questions

How many AI engines does ZeroRank track?

The pricing page lists 17 AI platforms on every plan, naming ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Copilot, Grok and DeepSeek. Each extra model spends more of the monthly answer budget, and higher-cost models spend more per run. Promptwatch's paid plans monitor ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity, Amazon Alexa, and Meta AI, plus Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral, and Grok via API.

Does ZeroRank have AI crawler logs?

Not as server-side logs. Its technical analysis checks robots.txt, llms.txt and what AI crawlers get back from your pages. Promptwatch's Agent Analytics logs real GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and other crawler visits from your CDN, from the Professional plan.

Does ZeroRank track AI-referred traffic and conversions?

Yes, through a Google Analytics connection. ZeroRank notes that Google counts AI Overviews clicks as organic and Copilot as bing.com, so the figure is a lower bound. Promptwatch's visitor analytics use its own script or GTM template.

ZeroRank vs Promptwatch?

ZeroRank if you want 17 platforms, unlimited seats and approval-gated WordPress or Webflow fixes from $39 a month. Promptwatch when you also need server-side crawler logs with a crawl-to-citation path, first-party visitor analytics, ChatGPT Shopping, Ads Radar and city-level tracking.
