ZeroRank pricing explained (2026)

ZeroRank sells a monthly budget of AI answers: 2,400 on the $39 Starter, 13,500 on Growth, 31,500 on Agency. The plans, the budget math for four real setups, what is unclear, and how it compares with Promptwatch.

ZeroRank repriced since August 2026. Starter was $89 then. It is $39 now, and the plans are no longer sized by prompt count. They are sized by one number: how many AI answers you can collect in a month. Prompts, countries and seats are unlimited on every card. Only the answer budget moves.

Source: zerorank.ai/pricing, read 28 October 2026, plus its agentic-workflows page and changelog (latest entry 19 September 2026). The page text we captured showed monthly prices only, no yearly figures. Promptwatch figures come from promptwatch.com/llms.txt, re-checked 21 October 2026.

Every card lists unlimited prompts and models within the budget, any of 17 AI platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and more), daily, weekly, monthly or on-demand runs, shareable client dashboards, MCP server plus REST API, and unlimited countries and seats.

No free plan is listed. What the page does offer is a full report on your domain before you enter a card.

How the budget is spent

One answer is one prompt run on one model. ZeroRank's own worked examples assume three standard models and use the full budget:

PlanDaily promptsWeekly promptsMonthly prompts
Starter26160800
Growth1509004,500
Agency3502,10010,500

Work the numbers back and the vendor counts a daily prompt as about 30 runs a month and a weekly prompt as 5. So monthly cost is prompts times models times runs. Scheduled and manual runs draw from the same budget, shared across all workspaces. Higher-cost models use more per run; the pricing page doesn't publish the rate, so the math below assumes standard models.

Worked math: four setups

1. One brand, 40 prompts, three models, daily. 40 x 3 x 30 = 3,600 answers. Starter's 2,400 runs out around day 20. Split the set instead: 20 prompts daily (1,800) and 20 weekly (300) comes to 2,100, which fits Starter with 300 spare for manual checks.

2. The "17 platforms" question. Starter lists all 17, but running them all daily is another matter. 2,400 divided by 17 models and 30 days is under five prompts a day, before any higher-cost model takes its larger share. On Growth it is about 26. The 17 is the menu; the budget decides how much of it you eat.

3. A six-model brand set. Ten prompts on six standard models daily is 1,800 answers, fine on Starter. Push to 30 prompts and it is 5,400, which needs Growth.

4. An eight-client agency, 30 prompts each, three models. All daily: 8 x 30 x 3 x 30 = 21,600. Growth (13,500) can't hold it even though its 10 workspaces fit the client count. Agency (31,500) can. Move four clients to weekly and the total is 10,800 plus 1,800, so 12,600, back inside Growth.

The pattern matches every answer-metered tool: model count and cadence move the bill more than the plan name does.

What $39 actually buys

A real tracker, not a teaser. You get prompt tracking with visibility, sentiment, average rank, mentions and AI volume; the Chats view with each full answer and its sources; Sources by domain, URL and domain type; 10 Prompt Research runs; two articles and two content optimizations; one workspace. The agentic-workflows page says workflow automation, the MCP server and the REST API are on every paid plan, so a Starter account can run a trigger flow that drafts a fix and, once approved, pushes it to WordPress or Webflow.

What is gated or unclear

  • White-label, emailed client reports, SSO, a dedicated rep. The page text lists these on every card but doesn't show which plans exclude them. The June 2026 changelog tied white-label dashboards and emailed reports to the old Pro plan. Confirm before you budget.
  • Bring-your-own-key content runs through gateways such as OpenRouter are described for "higher tiers" without naming one.
  • Running out. The page text we read doesn't say what happens when the budget is spent mid-month, or whether overage is sold.
  • Model weights. No published rate for how much more a higher-cost model uses.
  • Yearly prices. Not visible in the text we captured.

AppSumo lifetime deals also exist. Don't mix their quotas with the SaaS sheet.

Compared with Promptwatch

Treat ZeroRank "answers" and Promptwatch "responses" as roughly comparable monitoring units.

Price bandZeroRankPromptwatch
FreeDomain report before cardExplore: 10 prompts, ChatGPT only
$39 to $95Starter $39: 2,400 answers, unlimited seatsEssential $95: 50 prompts, 6,000 responses, 200K visitor events, 1 seat

$499 to $579Agency $499: 31,500 answers, unlimited workspacesBusiness $579: 42,000 responses, 100M crawler logs, Shopping, Ads Radar, Content Agent

ZeroRank wins the low end clearly. At $39 nothing in Promptwatch's ladder competes on answers or seats, and its approval-gated publishing reaches Starter where Promptwatch's automated Content Agent starts at Business.

Our read

On monitoring volume per dollar, ZeroRank is one of the best deals we track. The question is what you need around the monitoring. Promptwatch prices in crawler logs from Professional and on every agency plan, so you can see whether PerplexityBot fetched the page you want cited. Visitor analytics run on its own script or GTM template rather than through Google Analytics, and Business adds ChatGPT Shopping, Ads Radar and city tracking. If the brief is a tracking report, size a ZeroRank plan with the math above. If you have to explain citations and their value, price Promptwatch first: Explore is free, Essential and Professional come with a 7-day trial.
