ZeroRank vs AthenaHQ (2026)
ZeroRank runs 17 AI platforms with unlimited seats from $39/mo. AthenaHQ runs 11 models and an Action Center from $295/mo on credits. Pricing, engines, workflows and fit compared, plus the layer both leave out.
ZeroRank and AthenaHQ both sell more than a mention log. Each reads AI answers, finds where you lose, and pushes you toward a fix. They price that very differently. ZeroRank meters a monthly budget of AI answers from $39. AthenaHQ meters credits, one per AI response, from $295.
ZeroRank facts come from zerorank.ai/pricing and its platform and changelog pages, read 28 October 2026. AthenaHQ pricing was read on 24 October 2026. Both are recorded in our catalog.
The short answer
ZeroRank is the better buy on volume, engines, seats and API access per dollar, and it can ship an approved change to WordPress or Webflow. AthenaHQ is the better buy for a team that wants a GEO score, an assignable task queue and, on Enterprise, personas and multi-region. Neither publishes server-side AI crawler logs. Both read AI traffic through a Google Analytics connection.

Where ZeroRank is ahead
Price per answer, by a distance. $39 for 2,400 answers works out to under 2 cents each; Growth is under 1.5 cents. AthenaHQ Starter is about 8 cents per credit. Both units are one model response, though ZeroRank's higher-cost models draw more, so treat that as an approximation rather than an exact ratio.
Coverage is the second gap. ZeroRank lists 17 platforms on every card, naming ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok and DeepSeek. AthenaHQ lists 11 models on Starter.
Third, access. The MCP server (with write tools since July 2026) and REST API are on every ZeroRank paid plan. On AthenaHQ Starter, API access is a paid add-on with the price on request.
And the fix loop goes all the way to the page. ZeroRank's Copilot drafts a change as a diff against the live page, and nothing publishes until someone approves it. Agentic Workflows chain steps such as pulling the sources cited instead of you, scoring the gap and posting a brief to Slack. With WordPress or Webflow connected, an approved change ships.
Where AthenaHQ is ahead
The task layer. AthenaHQ was built by former Google Search and DeepMind engineers, and it rolls visibility into a GEO score with sentiment, then turns gaps into assignable on-page and off-page tasks in an Action Center. For a team that splits work across people, a queue with owners can matter more than raw volume.
It also has a free tier with 300 credits, enough to see a baseline. ZeroRank offers a domain report before you pay, and no free plan is listed.
And Enterprise covers things ZeroRank doesn't publish: persona targeting, multi-region and multi-language support, an audit log and the Athena Citation Engine.
Where each gets awkward
ZeroRank's budget is shared across workspaces and between scheduled and manual runs, so an agency running many clients daily can burn through Growth fast. The pricing text lists white-label, SSO and a dedicated rep on every card without saying which plans exclude them, and the June 2026 changelog tied white-label to a higher plan. Ask.
AthenaHQ's jump from $295 Starter to custom Enterprise is steep, and the features multi-market brands want sit on the far side of it.
What neither publishes
Neither documents server-side AI crawler logs. ZeroRank's technical analysis checks robots.txt, llms.txt and what each crawler gets back from a page, which tells you if a bot could read it, not whether it came. Neither publishes first-party visitor tracking; both rely on Google Analytics, which ZeroRank itself notes files AI Overviews clicks as organic and Copilot as bing.com.
Promptwatch fills that gap. Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther and the Meta AI crawler from your CDN, with a crawl-to-citation path and error tracking, from Professional ($245/mo) and on every agency plan. Visitor analytics use its own script or GTM template and record conversions. Business ($579/mo) adds ChatGPT Shopping, Ads Radar and city tracking.
Who should pick which
Pick ZeroRank if budget is tight, you want many engines and seats, or you want approved fixes shipped to WordPress or Webflow. Pick AthenaHQ if a team will work a task queue daily and you may grow into personas and multi-region on Enterprise.
Verdict
ZeroRank wins on value and on the path from a lost answer to a published fix. AthenaHQ wins on task management and enterprise depth. If the conversation is heading toward crawler access, conversions or proving AI search spend, neither gets you there.
