WP SEO AI vs Search Atlas (2026): Two SEO, Content and Ads Bundles Compared on AI Visibility

WP SEO AI sells SEO, GEO and Google Ads as a managed WordPress program. Search Atlas sells a self-serve suite with LLM Visibility from the $199 Growth plan. How each measures AI answers, and why Promptwatch goes deeper.

On a feature list, WP SEO AI and Search Atlas look like the same purchase. Both bundle SEO, content and paid search, both run AI agents, and both have added a module that checks whether your brand shows up in AI answers.

How you buy them is completely different. WP SEO AI is a service: a WordPress plugin, a dedicated customer success manager, a quote after a call, and a 12-month minimum. Search Atlas is software with four published tiers, starting at $99/mo, that you run yourself. Its AI tracking, called LLM Visibility, isn't on the cheapest tier.

We rank on measurement, so the question is narrow: what does each AI module show, and what must you buy to get it? Promptwatch is the yardstick.

The managed bundle: WP SEO AI

What you're buying is labor. Three agents (SEO, GEO and SEA) run in the plugin, and a person directs them. On the ads side the vendor is explicit: a paid-search manager reviews every Google Ads recommendation, and "nothing launches on autopilot." For a small business without a marketer, that oversight is the product.

The AI visibility module is fuller than Search Atlas's entry version. It names six engines on its GEO page, including Claude, Perplexity and AI Overviews, and says each is probed daily. It adds AI bot tracking by platform and bot type, and GA4 conversions with an "AI assistants" channel. Mention data can be exported.

Against that, there's no published price or prompt allowance, no trial, and nothing outside WordPress. The bot report names no user agents.

The self-serve bundle: Search Atlas

Search Atlas is the better deal on transparency. Prices are public at $99, $199, $399 and $999 a month, and there's a 7-day trial and a 30-minute onboarding call. The OTTO SEO agent, AI article credits, rank tracking, site audits, Google Business Profile tools and outreach all sit in the same account. Higher tiers add white-label and client portals, which suits agencies.

LLM Visibility reports mentions, sentiment, share of voice and position inside answers. The gating is the issue. Starter has none of it. Growth covers three platforms: ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Mode. Perplexity and Copilot need Pro at $399/mo. Claude and AI Overviews aren't on the tier lists we have. And credits meter everything, one credit per query, per platform, per refresh, so adding engines or checking more often draws the allowance down faster.

Which bundle measures more?

On engines and supporting data, WP SEO AI. Six engines beat three on Growth, and it reports bot visits and AI-channel conversions Search Atlas doesn't publish.

On checking any of that before paying, Search Atlas: start a trial and read the dashboard yourself.

Neither shows you which named crawler fetched which page, or ties that crawl to a citation.

Where Promptwatch fits

Promptwatch is a dedicated AI visibility platform rather than an SEO bundle, and its measurement goes further than either module. Essential is $95/mo, $104 less than Search Atlas Growth, with a 7-day trial. Its 50 prompts and 6,000 responses run daily across nine LLMs, including Claude and Perplexity, plus AI Overviews and AI Mode. Prompts come with search volumes, difficulty scores and query fan-outs.

Professional at $245/mo adds Agent Analytics: ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther and the Meta AI crawler logged by name, a crawl-to-citation path, and error tracking. Visitor analytics connects AI-referred visits to conversions through a script or GTM template. Citation analytics covers pages, Reddit and YouTube. Ads Radar tracks sponsored placements inside AI answers, which is not the same job as running Google Ads.

Content Agents publish to WordPress through an official plugin, or to Webflow and Framer, from a review inbox. Agencies get unlimited projects from Kick-off at $199/mo.

Verdict

Choose WP SEO AI if you want SEO, GEO and Google Ads run for you on a WordPress site and are happy to sign for a year. Choose Search Atlas if you want an SEO suite you operate yourself and AI tracking is a side feature.

If AI answers are the channel you need to measure, Promptwatch gives you more engines for less, plus the crawler and traffic data neither bundle documents.

FAQ

Does Search Atlas Starter include AI visibility tracking?

No. LLM Visibility starts on Growth at $199/mo.

Which tracks more AI engines, WP SEO AI or Search Atlas?

WP SEO AI's GEO page lists six (its feature page lists five, without AI Mode). Search Atlas tracks three on Growth and five on Pro.

Is Promptwatch an SEO suite like these two?

No. It is a dedicated AI visibility platform, not an SEO and ads bundle. Its scope runs from prompts and citations through crawler logs and conversions to publishing the page that fills a gap.
