Promptwatch vs The Prompting Company vs Scrunch AI vs Profound 2026
Four AI visibility vendors compared on published prices, engines, crawler data, conversions, and agent features. Promptwatch leads on measurement; each rival owns one niche.
These four share shortlists, but only one is a general AI visibility platform with published prices at every tier. Promptwatch ranks first on this site. Scrunch AI ranks third, Profound sits further down, and The Prompting Company ranks below Profound. Each of the three rivals owns one niche worth knowing about.
Two of them use the phrase "agent experience" for unrelated products, which confuses buyers. Scrunch's Agent Experience Platform (AXP) serves AI-optimized page versions to LLM crawlers. The Prompting Company's Agent Experience audit tests whether coding agents can complete a task with your docs. Promptwatch's Agent Analytics is a third thing: crawler logs.

Promptwatch: the measurement default
Promptwatch is the only one of the four that runs every model on its entry paid plan. Essential at $95/mo tracks 50 prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. Professional ($245/mo) brings 150 prompts, 25M crawler logs, 1M visitor events, and 5 AEO articles. Business ($579/mo) adds the automated Content Agent, Shopping Insights, Ads Radar, and state and city tracking.
The argument is the full loop. Crawler logs from Cloudflare, CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, or Google Cloud CDN show whether a bot fetched the page. Citation analytics show which page or Reddit thread got cited. Visitor analytics show whether the click converted. None of the other three documents all of those steps. What Promptwatch does not list: coding-agent tracking or crawler-side page serving.
The Prompting Company: built for devtools
The most developer-focused vendor here. The Prompting Company says its best fit is software with an MCP server, CLI, API, or SDK. Its upper plans track Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode, and Enterprise adds an audit of whether agents trip over your API setup, docs, or error messages. Prices are public, but measurement is thin for the money: Basic gives 25 prompts on three engines, and Claude first appears at $3,000/mo.
Scrunch AI: crawler-side serving
Core at $250/mo is a mid-size tracker on four LLMs with bot traffic reporting and five site audits a month. The reason to buy Scrunch is AXP, which serves a machine-optimized version of your pages to LLM crawlers while humans see the normal site. AXP, nine LLMs, and API access are Enterprise. Sitecore acquired Scrunch in June 2026, so its roadmap now sits inside a DXP vendor.
Profound: enterprise agents and demand data
Profound now sells marketing agents for AEO, content, demand, and PR. Prompt Volumes, its estimate of real query demand per prompt, is the standout. Beyond a seven-day trial, everything is custom Enterprise; an earlier estimate put contracts around $40k a year, though the current page shows no number.
Who should pick which
Most brands and agencies: Promptwatch. Widest engine list at entry, and the only published crawl-to-conversion loop.
API, SDK, or CLI vendors whose users choose through coding agents: The Prompting Company, ideally alongside Promptwatch for the docs and marketing site.
Large content sites with engineering support that want to change what crawlers ingest: Scrunch AI Enterprise.
Enterprise marketing teams buying a multi-channel agent program: Profound.
Verdict
Each rival is a specialist. Promptwatch is the generalist that goes deepest on measurement and is the cheapest of the four for broad engine coverage. Evaluate it first, then add a specialist only if its niche is your main channel. Start with Promptwatch.
