SignalKit review (2026): nine AI platforms from $39, priced per prompt
SignalKit tracks nine AI platforms from $39/mo for 10 prompts, then $3 per prompt. We score the API sampling, the Shopify-only publishing and when Promptwatch is the better buy.
SignalKit is a small AI visibility tracker with an unusually wide engine list. Every prompt runs on nine platforms: ChatGPT, the ChatGPT app, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Grok, DeepSeek and Copilot. Eight of them run daily. Grok runs on Mondays and Thursdays. It records whether you are named, in what position, and which sources the answer cited.
The target buyer is a small B2B or ecommerce team that wants breadth and an API without an enterprise contract. On our board it scores well for coverage per dollar at low prompt counts. It drops as the prompt list grows, because the bill grows with it.
The plan, in numbers
Prices were read on signalkit.ai/pricing on 20 October 2026.
There is one Monitoring plan. It costs $39 a month and includes 10 prompts. Each extra prompt is $3 a month. A prompt tracked in two countries counts as two. SignalKit's own example: 20 prompts in one country is $69 a month.
The base price includes a lot. Up to 999 projects, unlimited seats and competitors, CSV, JSON and PDF exports, a REST API and a hosted MCP connector. SignalKit says each prompt yields about 250 answers a month across the nine platforms. Its published example bills are $84 for a solo founder, $369 for an in-house team and $3,429 for an agency with 12 clients.
Content & Growth is a separate add-on. Managed costs $99 a month for 150 units, and a draft costs 3 units, so roughly 50 drafts. The bring-your-own-key option is $29 a month with 600 units for keyword data, and drafts run on your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Z.AI key.
The 14-day trial covers 10 prompts and 30 Content units. It needs a card. There is no free tier, though the site audit is free and needs no account.
What it does well
Coverage first. Nine platforms on every prompt, at no surcharge, is more than most trackers in this price band offer on their entry plan.
The reporting is built for a weekly rhythm. A Monday brief explains what moved, by how many points, per platform, prompt and topic. Every number opens to the stored raw answers, so you can audit a drop instead of trusting a chart.
The documentation is candid. SignalKit explains that six platforms go through vendor APIs (via Cloudflare's AI Gateway for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok, a Cloudflare-hosted model for DeepSeek, and Perplexity directly). Copilot, the logged-out ChatGPT app and Google AI Overviews are read from the live pages through a third-party service called cloro. It even publishes a list of what it has not built yet.
Product catalogue checks are a useful extra for shops. They alert when an AI answer quotes a wrong price or fact.
Check these before paying
Six of nine platforms are API calls. SignalKit itself says API answers are close to, but not identical to, what people see in the apps.
Cited rate has holes. Grok, DeepSeek and (on a standard project) Claude do not expose usable sources, so they are excluded from it. On those three you get mentions without a source view.
Run the per-prompt maths early. At 150 prompts in one country the bill is $39 plus 140 extra prompts at $3, which is $459 a month. Add a second country and those prompts count twice.
Content & Growth publishes to Shopify and to Markdown or HTML sites in a GitHub repository. WordPress, Webflow and Framer are not listed. The trial needs a card. And the pricing page itself says there is no SSO, no procurement track and no combined view across projects.
SignalKit also runs a comparison page against other trackers. Read it as vendor material.
Where it stops short
SignalKit measures answers and connects Google Search Console and GA4. Its API docs list an AI traffic pixel. Its pages describe no server-side AI crawler logs. So you can see that ChatGPT stopped citing a page, but not whether OAI-SearchBot or ClaudeBot still fetches it, or whether those fetches end in errors.
That fetch layer is what separates a tracker from a full AI visibility platform.
When Promptwatch is the better buy
Two triggers. You need crawler evidence, or you publish on WordPress, Webflow or Framer.
Promptwatch Professional costs $245 a month for 2 projects, 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 25M crawler logs, 1M visitor events and 15 AEO articles. At 150 prompts that is $214 less than SignalKit's per-prompt bill. SignalKit's bill buys more raw answers per prompt (about 250 a month each), so compare on the sample size you need. What Professional adds is Agent Analytics: real-time logs for ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther and the Meta AI crawler, with the crawl-to-citation path and error tracking. Logs come in from Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN or custom HTTP.
Content Agents cover the publishing gap. They plan and write GEO pages from content gap analysis, hold them in a review inbox and publish to Webflow, Framer or WordPress through the official plugin. Visitor analytics then ties AI-referred sessions to conversions.
Promptwatch's data sourcing is real UI monitoring, not only APIs, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral and Copilot, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode.
At small scale the maths flips. Essential is $95 a month for 50 prompts and 6,000 responses. SignalKit at 50 prompts in one country is $159. If you only need 10 to 20 prompts, an API and nine platforms, SignalKit is cheaper.
Verdict
Score: strong tracker, narrow platform. SignalKit is well built and honest about its method, and the $39 entry with API and MCP included is good value. It gets expensive at category scale, leans on API data and stops at answers and GA4 sessions. Teams that need crawler logs and CMS publishing should start on Promptwatch Professional.
FAQ
How much does SignalKit cost?
$39 a month for 10 prompts, then $3 a month per extra prompt per country. Content & Growth is $99 a month managed, with a cheaper option on your own model key. The 14-day trial needs a card.
Does SignalKit check the real ChatGPT app?
Partly. The logged-out ChatGPT app, Copilot and Google AI Overviews are read from live pages through cloro. The other six platforms are API calls.
Can SignalKit publish to WordPress?
Not according to its site. Publishing covers Shopify and Markdown or HTML sites in a GitHub repository. Promptwatch's Content Agents publish to WordPress, Webflow and Framer. Start at promptwatch.com.
