Wellows Review 2026: Pricing, Features and Who It's For
Wellows scores AI visibility on citations, splits explicit from implicit, and runs every plan on one answer balance from $29/mo. What it does well, where it stops, and who should buy it.
Wellows is a citation-first AI visibility platform. Where most trackers count how often an engine says your brand name, Wellows counts the sources behind each answer and asks whether you are one of them. It is a Disrupt.com company led by founder and CEO Masab Gadit.
Everything below comes from wellows.com/pricing and wellows.com/llms.txt (updated 23 September 2026), as recorded in our catalog on 25 October 2026. Where Wellows doesn't publish something, we say so.
The verdict up front
Wellows is one of the cheapest ways to get a serious citation report. Since its September 2026 repricing, every plan runs all five of its engines with unlimited projects, prompts and seats, so even the $29 plan shows the full feature set. The catch is size: that plan covers 12 prompts a day. It also stops at the citation report. There are no AI crawler logs, no conversion attribution and no Claude or Copilot tracking.
On our leaderboard it is a strong value pick, not a top-three platform.
What Wellows tracks
Wellows collects answers from the live, logged-out interfaces of ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini, with web search on. It pulls every source in the citation list and reads those pages for your brand, your competitors (up to ten) and your category.
The part we like most is the split. An explicit citation is your own page being cited. An implicit citation is a third-party page, a review site or a forum thread, say, that the engine cites and that mentions you. Most tools fold both into one number. Wellows keeps them apart, and that matters because the fixes are different. One is a content job. The other is a PR and outreach job.
On top of that you get an AI Visibility Score and a Citation Score, split by branded and non-branded prompts. Each cited page that mentions you is tagged positive, neutral or negative, so sentiment is tied to a source you can actually open.
What it does with a gap
Wellows calls this the Act layer, and it is more practical than most.
- Outreach. A cited third-party page that never mentions you becomes a target, with contact emails and a template. Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, Medium and Quora are listed apart from publisher sites.
- Content Opportunities. A prompt where competitors are cited and you aren't becomes a brief. KIVA, the built-in writing agent, drafts against your Google Search Console data and can send the draft to WordPress for editing.
- Content Optimization and Content Scoring. These compare an existing page with the pages already cited for that prompt. Both are still in beta.
Every run is kept in Performance History with CSV export, so you can compare any two dates. White-label client dashboards, Search Console and the WordPress plugin are on every plan. The API is limited to reporting.
Pricing
Wellows retired its per-domain plans (Lite, Essential, Starter, Pro) in September 2026. Every plan now buys a monthly balance of AI answers. One answer is one prompt asked of one engine on one day.
| Plan | Price | AI answers a month | Prompts daily on all 5 engines |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $29/mo | 1,800 | 12 |
| Standard | $97/mo | 6,500 | 43 |
| Growth | $249/mo | 18,000 | 120 |
| Scale | $497/mo | 36,000 | 240 |
| Custom | Quote | Above Scale | Sized to order |
Run on a single engine, the same balances cover 60, 216, 600 or 1,200 prompts a day. Weekly cadence costs roughly a seventh of daily. Every plan has a 7-day trial. There is no free plan.
Two billing rules are worth knowing before you set up a big prompt set. When the balance runs out, collection pauses until your billing date. You aren't charged extra and you don't lose data, but you do lose those days. And unused answers don't roll over. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades wait for the next cycle.
Where Wellows stops
Wellows states that it doesn't track Claude or Microsoft Copilot. Runs are daily or weekly, not real time.
The bigger gap is everything that happens before and after the citation. Wellows publishes no AI crawler logs, so you can't see whether ChatGPTBot or PerplexityBot reached the page you want cited. It publishes no visitor analytics that tie AI-referred sessions to conversions, and its own FAQ concedes that rising citations often don't show up as referral traffic. KIVA writes drafts, but there is no automated agent that publishes through a review inbox.
Who it's for
Wellows fits agencies and in-house teams that want one citation metric to move across many small projects on one bill. Because projects are unlimited and a project spends nothing until it runs prompts, an agency can park a lot of client workspaces on Standard or Growth. Teams that need Claude or Copilot, or that have to show revenue from AI search, will hit the edges fast.
What we'd evaluate alongside it
If Wellows answers "which pages get cited", Promptwatch answers the next two questions: why, and was it worth anything. Its Agent Analytics logs AI crawler visits with a crawl-to-citation path and error tracking, from the Professional plan ($245/mo) and on every agency plan. Visitor analytics connect AI referrers to conversions through a small script or a GTM template. It monitors Claude, Copilot and Grok alongside the engines Wellows covers, and its citation analytics break sources out by page, domain, Reddit, YouTube and offsite mentions with trends over time. On Business ($579/mo) the Content Agent publishes to Webflow, Framer or WordPress after you approve drafts in a review inbox.
Promptwatch costs more to start: Explore is free (10 ChatGPT prompts), and Essential is $95/mo. For a team that only reports citations to one client, Wellows Basic may be enough. For a team that has to explain why a citation was lost and what it was worth, start the Promptwatch trial first. More options are in our Wellows alternatives grid.
FAQ
Does Wellows have a free plan?
No. Every plan has a 7-day trial, and Basic at $29/mo is the cheapest paid option.
Which engines are on the cheapest plan?
All five: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini. Plans differ only in answer balance.
Is Wellows good for agencies?
For citation reporting, yes. Unlimited projects and seats, plus white-label dashboards on every plan, make it cheap to spread across clients. Agencies that also report crawler activity or AI-referred conversions will need a second tool.
