OmniSEO vs Scrunch AI (2026): wide answer tracking or a crawler-side lever?

OmniSEO tracks up to 10 engines from $89/mo with prompt research. Scrunch AI serves AI-optimized pages to crawlers from $250/mo annual. Scored on six criteria, with Promptwatch as the benchmark.

OmniSEO and Scrunch AI look at AI search from opposite ends. OmniSEO watches the answers: which engines mention you, which domains they cite, which prompts have demand. Scrunch watches the crawlers and then changes what they read, serving AI-optimized versions of your pages to LLM bots while humans see the normal site.

So the question for this pair is which side of the pipe you want to work on. Answer-side tracking is cheaper and wider. Crawler-side serving is a lever few tools offer, but it needs engineering time. Promptwatch covers both sides in one product, so it is our benchmark column.

OmniSEO: published prices, wide coverage

WebFX and SEO.com are behind OmniSEO, and the group claims a staff of 650+ experts. The $89 Essentials plan watches four engines (AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity) and allows 50 saved prompts, five competitors and five seats. The $349 Professional plan unlocks the full ten, adding Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Meta AI, Grok and DeepSeek, plus 100 saved prompts and CSV or PDF exports up to 5,000 rows a month.

Its best feature is prompt research. Enter a domain or topic and it lists library prompts that cite it, each with an estimated query volume. The citing-domain table shows which sources, including Reddit and YouTube, shape each answer. Every tracked prompt comes with recommendations on what page to update and which sources to get onto.

Its limits are in the fine print. The competitor cap stays at five even on Professional. Doubling saved prompts from 50 to 100 means paying $349 instead of $89. The trial only covers ChatGPT and AI Overviews. Plan upgrades apply from the next billing cycle. We saw no crawler logs, no visitor analytics and no CMS publishing. The 586% traffic rise quoted for Thompson Tractor is OmniSEO's own case study.

Scrunch AI: the serving layer, with a weaker dashboard

Scrunch detects LLM crawlers at your CDN or an edge worker and serves them a parallel page: tighter answer blocks, explicit entity statements, denser structured data. Crawler analytics then show which bots fetched which pages. You ship a variant, watch the crawl pattern change, and check whether citations follow. No answer-side tracker can run that loop.

Starter is $250 a month on annual billing ($300 monthly) with 3 seats, 350 custom prompts and 1,000 industry prompts. Extra seats cost $25 a month. Growth is $417 annual ($500 monthly). Enterprise adds AXP at scale, SSO, SOC 2 and a data API.

The monitoring half draws complaints on G2. Reviewers say reporting is weak and they export to Excel for client charts. Credits are consumed per engine, so one prompt on seven engines uses seven. Data refreshes weekly. Recommendations point to where you are absent more than what to change. Sitecore acquired Scrunch in June 2026 for about $225M, so the roadmap now answers to a DXP vendor.

OmniSEO wins the totals, and it wins for a small team or agency that wants published prices and ten engines without an engineering project. Scrunch wins for a content-heavy site with developer support that wants to change what crawlers ingest. That is a narrower buyer, and for that buyer Scrunch is close to the only option.

Where Promptwatch fits

Promptwatch joins the two halves. On the answer side it tracks nine LLMs plus AI Overviews and AI Mode, refreshed daily on every paid brand plan, against Scrunch's weekly cadence. Each prompt shows a search volume and a difficulty score, and you can open its query fan-outs, which goes a step past OmniSEO's volume estimate. Citation analytics covers page and domain level, Reddit and YouTube citations and offsite mentions. Citation trends show how those sources shift between checks.

On the crawler side, Agent Analytics connects to your CDN (Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, Vercel and others, or a custom HTTP feed). The crawl-to-citation path tells you whether a fetched page later earned a citation, and error tracking shows the pages bots failed on. Visitor analytics then records AI-referred sessions and conversions. Agent Analytics starts on Professional at $245/mo with 25M crawler logs and 150 prompts. For reporting, Looker Studio is a listed integration, which answers Scrunch's most common complaint.

Two honest caveats. Promptwatch does not list a crawler-serving layer like Scrunch's AXP. And OmniSEO Essentials gives you five seats for $89 where Promptwatch Essential gives one for $95.

Verdict

OmniSEO is the better buy of the two for most teams: cheaper, wider on self-serve plans, and stronger on prompt research. Scrunch is worth it only if you will actually deploy the serving layer. For a team that wants crawler data and answer tracking without picking a side, Promptwatch Professional is the one to evaluate first, at $245 a month with daily data and the crawl-to-citation link.

FAQ

Can OmniSEO see which AI bots crawl my site?

The OmniSEO pages we read describe no crawler logs. OmniSEO tracks answers and citing domains. Scrunch AI and Promptwatch both offer crawler analytics.

Is Scrunch AI's data updated daily?

No. Scrunch refreshes weekly. OmniSEO does not publish its cadence, and Promptwatch refreshes daily on paid brand plans.

Where does Promptwatch sit against OmniSEO and Scrunch AI?

It tracks answers like OmniSEO and reads crawler logs like Scrunch, then adds AI-referred conversions and Content Agents. It does not serve alternate pages to crawlers.
