OmniSEO vs Promptwatch: Which AI Visibility Tool Wins in 2026?
OmniSEO is WebFX's published-price tracker with up to 10 engines from $89/mo. Promptwatch adds crawler logs, AI-referred conversions and CMS publishing. Head to head, with the numbers.
OmniSEO and Promptwatch both publish their prices, both offer a 7-day trial, and both start within six dollars of each other. That is where the resemblance ends. OmniSEO is a prompt tracker with prompt research and recommendations. Promptwatch tracks prompts too, then adds the crawler, traffic and publishing layers that OmniSEO's pages do not describe.
OmniSEO facts come from this directory's catalog entry, read from omniseo.com on 14 October 2026. Promptwatch facts come from its published llms.txt, checked 15 October 2026.

The case for OmniSEO
OmniSEO is run by WebFX and SEO.com, an agency group that says it has 650+ experts on staff. The product is straightforward. You enter a domain or topic, it lists prompts from its library that already cite it, each with an estimated query volume, and you track the useful ones in a click. A citing-domain table shows which sources shape the answer, Reddit and YouTube included. Every tracked prompt comes with recommendations: which page to update, what to add, which sources to get on.
Engine coverage on Professional is wide. Ten engines, and three of them (Meta AI, Grok, DeepSeek) are ones many trackers skip. Meta AI is not on Promptwatch's published engine list, so if Meta AI answers matter to your category, that is a point to OmniSEO.
Seats are generous too. Five on the $89 plan, ten on Professional, unlimited on Enterprise from $899/mo. Promptwatch's Essential gives one seat, Professional two.
Where OmniSEO pinches
Essentials covers four engines and has no exports. Gemini, Claude and Copilot all sit behind Professional. Both self-serve plans cap competitor tracking at five, which is tight in a crowded category. Going from 50 to 100 saved prompts costs $260 more a month. The trial runs only on ChatGPT and AI Overviews, so you cannot test the ten-engine view before you pay. Plan changes apply at the next billing cycle, not on the spot.
The recommendations are advice. Acting on them is your job, and the pages we read mention no CMS publishing. The homepage case studies, such as a 586% rise in generative AI traffic for Thompson Tractor, are OmniSEO's own figures. We have not audited them.
The case for Promptwatch
Compare the middle tiers, because that is where most teams end up. OmniSEO Professional is $349 for 100 prompts. Promptwatch Professional is $245 for 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, two projects, 1M visitor events, 25M crawler logs and 15 AEO articles. More prompts for $104 less, and three product layers OmniSEO does not list.
Those layers do the explaining. Agent Analytics reads AI crawler logs from Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN or custom HTTP, and shows ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther and the Meta AI crawler with a crawl-to-citation path. If a prompt drops, you can check whether the bot stopped fetching the page or hit an error. Visitor analytics count AI-referred sessions and conversions. Content Agents plan, write and publish to Webflow or Framer through a review inbox, fed by content gap analysis.
Prompt research is deeper as well. Promptwatch prompts carry search volumes, difficulty scores, query fan-outs, personas and country, state or city targeting. OmniSEO documents estimated volume only.
One caveat. Essential at $95 has no listed crawler-log allowance. Agent Analytics starts on Professional and on the agency plans.
Who should pick which
Pick OmniSEO if you want a simple published-price tracker for a small team, you need Meta AI in the engine set, you track five competitors or fewer, and five seats at $89 beats deeper data for you.
Pick Promptwatch if anyone will ask why visibility moved or what it earned. At the 100 to 150 prompt level it is cheaper than OmniSEO and covers crawler logs, conversions and publishing in the same workspace. Agencies get self-serve plans from $199/mo with unlimited projects and prompts and ten seats.
Verdict
OmniSEO is an honest tracker with a clear price list. For a tracker, it is fine. Promptwatch wins this comparison on the mid-tier math and on the layers that turn a visibility score into a diagnosis. Start on the free Explore plan, then move to Professional when you want the crawler logs.
