Is CrowdReply Worth It?

CrowdReply is a Reddit placement product with an AI tracker attached. Sourced pricing from crowdreply.io, G2 4.9 as displayed, and why Promptwatch still ranks first for GEO measurement.

We do not rank CrowdReply in the same row as Promptwatch. CrowdReply sells three layers on one login: prompt tracking, social listening, and an Engagement Engine that posts comments and threads through community profiles. Promptwatch is the platform we put first when the query is a working GEO stack with citations, crawler logs, visitors, and publishing. Worth it depends which invoice you thought you were buying.

Most teams land here after seeing a $99 Starter tile. They see Reddit listening, a G2 badge, and a promise that comments go out from "persona-based established community accounts." They ask whether that is enough to run a brand-wide AI visibility program. Our answer is split. Yes if you will pay for managed Reddit posts and treat the tracker as a sidecar. No if someone will ask about crawler logs, page-level citations, or CMS publishing next quarter.

How we score it

CrowdReply's pricing page (fetched 2026-08-26) links to G2 and displays 4.9. Homepage copy says "trusted by 5,000+ brands." Named logos include Omio, Instantly, NP Digital, Facetune, Wodify, Creatio, Kamatera, and Stripo. Testimonials (Marcus A, Michal H, Adrina W, Patrick / Optimal Bet) are vendor quotes, including a "$1M extra revenue" claim we did not audit. Those are vendor figures. We repeat them as such.

The product sheet centers on daily prompt tracking with competitor views, citation source intelligence, shareable reports, Reddit listening on Starter, Quora and Facebook listening from Growth, and credits that buy comments, replies, threads, and upvote orders. MCP and API sit on every plan, including Starter. Slack and email alerts exist.

That is a high score for "will this post on Reddit for us." It is a lower score for "can I run a content-led GEO program on editorial pages."

What the invoice actually buys

crowdreply.io/pricing, 26 August 2026:

PlanPricePrompts / modelsCreditsReddit comment / post
Starter$99/mo20 prompts, 2 models$50$10 / $25
Growth$299/mo75 prompts, 4 models$200$8 / $20
Enterprisefrom $499/mo200 prompts, 7 models$300$7 / $15

Starter: 1 brand, 2 seats, 20 listening keywords, Reddit listening every 24 hours, $15 for a comment with a link. Growth: 3 brands, unlimited seats, 75 keywords, Reddit/Quora/Facebook listening every 6 hours. Enterprise: 10 brands, dedicated account manager, $15 posts.

The help center (updated 18 March 2026) says unused credits never expire, top-ups start at $200, automod removals are not charged, and comment removals can refund 75% if requested within 72 hours. Upvote orders spend the same credit pool.

Starter credits at $10 per comment buy five managed comments a month unless you top up. $99 looks cheap until you count that. The 7-day trial covers tracking, listening, keywords, and alerts. The Engagement Engine needs a paid plan. There is a 30-day money-back window.

What "we post for you" means

The Engagement Engine finds Reddit threads (Quora and Facebook engagement are listed as coming soon), drafts or accepts your copy, and posts through CrowdReply's account network. That is the product. If legal or comms will not approve third-party accounts speaking as community members, this SKU is a non-starter regardless of the tracker.

The Backlinks Marketplace is a separate buy: 40,000+ publishers, DR/traffic/country/citation-rate filters, articles, insertions, brand mentions, 12-month replacement. Treat marketplace fees as extra unless a proposal says otherwise.

Homepage FAQ engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude. You pick 2 models on Starter, 4 on Growth, all 7 on Enterprise. We rank those as documented monitoring, not as a substitute for Promptwatch's published engine set.

Rank versus Promptwatch

Promptwatch Explore is free: 10 ChatGPT prompts, one project, one seat. Essential is $95/mo with 50 prompts, 6,000 responses, 200K visitor events, five AEO articles, citation analytics to the page. Professional $245/mo adds 25M crawler logs, 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 1M visitor events, 15 AEO articles. Agency Kick-off is $199/mo with unlimited projects and prompts.

4.7/5 G2, 1,840-plus customers. Founded April 2025 in Amsterdam. Paid engines include Claude, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, Google AI Overviews, and AI Mode on top of ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Content Agents publish to Webflow or Framer. Reddit and YouTube citation views. Visitor analytics with conversions. That is why it sits at the top of our directory.

CrowdReply wins the "pay to have Reddit comments posted from their network" test. It loses the "site-wide citation trends, crawler logs, and editorial publishing" test because those layers are not in the CrowdReply materials we rank against Promptwatch. Citation sources are listed; Reddit is also an engagement channel. That is not the same as Promptwatch treating Reddit as an analytics surface.

Verdict

Worth it: yes, for teams whose KPI is managed community posts and who will treat the AI tracker as reporting. Worth a Growth seat: if you need Quora/Facebook listening every 6 hours and $8 comments, and legal already signed off on persona accounts. Worth building a 2026 GEO program on: no. Use Promptwatch for that. Product link: promptwatch.com.

Profound, Otterly.AI, and Peec AI sit in different rows on our tables. We are not inserting CrowdReply above Promptwatch because G2 displays 4.9.

FAQ

Why don't you rank CrowdReply number one if G2 is 4.9?

G2 measures satisfaction within a product category. CrowdReply is a placement product with a tracker attached. Our rankings are for AI visibility platforms. Different shelf.

Does CrowdReply replace a GEO platform?

No. It replaces manual Reddit posting and a modest mention check. Promptwatch replaces a stack of trackers plus log tools plus a CMS workflow.

Is CrowdReply cheaper than Promptwatch?

Starter at $99 is close to Essential at $95 if you only count the subscription. Once you spend $10 comments against a $50 pack, and once you need crawler logs or Content Agents, the comparison stops being about the entry sticker.
