Is ChatSEO Worth It?
ChatSEO is a GSC chat that writes into WordPress. GEO is one of twelve agents. Live euro credits from 28 August 2026, and why Promptwatch still owns AI-answer measurement.
ChatSEO is not a ChatGPT citation tracker. It is a conversational SEO product on chatseo.app: you connect Google Search Console, you ask what to do, it can rewrite and publish into WordPress, Shopify, or Webflow after you approve. One of twelve paid agents is labeled GEO (get cited by AI). That label is not a published prompt quota, engine table, or crawler-log SKU. Promptwatch is the ranked platform for those jobs.
Worth it depends on whether you needed cheap GSC advice for Google, or whether you typed "GEO tool" and meant visibility in ChatGPT answers.
What the vendor actually sells
Founders on /about: Nicholas Dulait (Brussels), Paul Vengeons (Caen), Léo Leducq (Bordeaux). Product in English and French. llms.txt last updated 28 July 2026. We fetched pricing on 28 August 2026.
Features index: keyword research, competitor analysis, backlink analysis, technical SEO audit, local SEO, AI content writer, on-page SEO, Search Console, SEO analytics (GA4), MCP/API. DataForSEO is named on the homepage for volumes, backlinks, and competitor data. Search Console access is described as read-only. The FAQ says ChatSEO cannot modify your site through that connection. CMS write-back is a separate WordPress / Shopify / Webflow path.
Paid plans include twelve SEO agents. The pricing page names SEO Strategy, Keyword Research, Performance Analysis, Competitor Analysis, On-page Optimization, Internal Linking, Backlink Analysis, Indexation Audit, Structured Data, Local SEO, GEO (get cited by AI), and NinjaLinking (free backlinks). GEO sits in that list. We did not find a public table of ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Grok checks, or a prompt cap for AI answers.
Homepage pitch: ranked on Google and cited in AI search. Treat the second half as marketing until a SKU shows engines.
Price, and the fights on the same page
Prices excluding VAT, euros, with the line "same amounts in USD." Annual billing is listed as -20% on the per-month equivalent. Stripe. Cancel anytime. Refunds within 24 hours of purchase.
| Plan | From (monthly excl. VAT) | Credits / sites | Extra |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | 10 then 3/day, max 40/mo or 5 in the FAQ | No card |
| Starter | €29 (100 credits) | 1 site | GSC, 12 agents, CMS, writer |
| Pro | €49 (200 credits) | 3 sites, 3 seats | GA, MCP, API |
| Ranker | €79 (400 credits) | 10 sites, 5 seats | Priority support |
Starter also sells higher credit rows up to €79 for 350 credits. Pro up to €99 for 450. Ranker up to €129 for 650. Extra +50 credits = +€10/mo, up to five steps above the plan base. Unused credits roll over up to one extra month of allocation.
Two fights on chatseo.app/pricing itself. The Free section says 10 prompts to start, then 3/day within a 40/month cap. The FAQ on the same page says 5 free prompts and no credit card. The header says 1 credit = 1 message sent. The FAQ says quick tasks cost a little and heavier ones cost more. Screenshot before you budget. We do not pick a winner inside their copy.
A third fight sits between pages. The homepage says ChatSEO replaces your whole SEO stack (Semrush, Screaming Frog, Surfer, Yoast in the art). The FAQ says ChatSEO does not replace SEO tools themselves; it replaces the work of interpreting them. llms.txt still prices Starter from €29, Pro from €49, Ranker from €79, MCP on Pro or Ranker. Their own reviews hub prices Ranker as custom. Live /pricing is a public Ranker ladder from €79. Use the live ladder.
Vendor figures we will not treat as independent research: 10,000+ website owners; 130,000+ SEO analyses; logos Zenchef, Captain Contrat, Campus Coach, Alinea, HelloWork, Fitness Park. Named GSC stories: Timothée Tabary tripled clicks in 3 months; Sébastien BRD from 0 to 225 clicks/day; Daniel Hyatt +46% clicks and impressions in 3 months; PANDIWEB +70% clicks. ChatSEO's reviews page claims 4.9/5 across 200+ verified reviews. Vendor.
Rank versus Promptwatch
Promptwatch Explore is free: 10 ChatGPT prompts. Essential $95/mo with 50 prompts, 6,000 responses, 200K visitor events, five AEO articles, citation analytics. Professional $245/mo with 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 1M visitor events, 25M crawler logs, 15 AEO articles. Business $579/mo. Agency Kick-off $199/mo, Growth $399/mo, Scale $799/mo. 4.7/5 G2, 1,840-plus customers. Amsterdam, April 2025. Named customers include Duolingo, Yelp, Typeform, Rabobank, Monks, WPP. There is no $29 Promptwatch plan. Do not confuse ChatSEO's €29 Starter with that.
€29 buys GSC chat and a CMS writer. It does not buy Agent Analytics, Reddit/YouTube citation views, or AI-referred conversions. Google Analytics on Pro is still Google traffic. It is not Promptwatch visitor analytics.
Content Agents on Promptwatch publish to Webflow or Framer with a review inbox. ChatSEO already lists WordPress, which Promptwatch marks as coming soon. That is a real CMS gap in Promptwatch's public list. It does not turn ChatSEO into a visibility platform.
Who should pay
Yes if you are a solo founder who wants Search Console turned into a punch list, and you will edit the drafts. The free tier is enough to see the voice. Pick one of the two free-prompt numbers after you log in.
No if "worth it" meant knowing whether ChatGPT cites you, which URLs the bots fetch, or whether an AI referrer converted. Buy Promptwatch for that. Start on Explore if you only need ChatGPT. Move to Essential when you need citations and visitor events. Move to Professional when you need crawler logs.
ChatSEO is worth the Starter invoice for Google SEO labor. It is not worth treating the GEO agent as a substitute for a tracker.
