Geostar review (2026): a Shopify GEO agency with a $249 tracker attached
Geostar now sells managed GEO work for Shopify brands, plus a Lite tracker at $249/mo billed yearly with three engines, one region and 30 days of history. Agency or software, here is the split.
Geostar changed what it sells. The domain moved from usegeostar.com (which no longer resolved when we checked on 20 October 2026) to geostar.ai, and the homepage now leads with a managed service: a GEO and SEO agency for Shopify and ecommerce brands. The tracking software is still there, priced on its own. This review rates the two halves separately, because they are good at different things.
What it is and who it is for
The service side audits AI visibility, rewrites product pages, fixes schema and llms.txt, writes content, places off-site citations and reports AI-attributed revenue by reconciling GA4 sessions with Shopify orders. The engagement starts with a free audit and a week-one onboarding that connects Shopify, GA4 and a prompt library. Agencies can resell it white-label for a revenue share.
Under the service sits a platform: citation source tracking, competitor citation gap analysis, sentiment on each mention, and what Geostar calls agent analytics, a view of which AI bots visit which pages.
Best fit: a Shopify or DTC brand that wants an outside team to do the AI search work and report it in revenue terms.
What you get per plan
Prices were read on geostar.ai/pricing on 20 October 2026.
| Plan | Price | Engines | Volume | History | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $249/mo billed yearly | Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity | 6,000 prompt executions/mo, 1 region | 30 days | Agent analytics, email support |
| Enterprise | Custom | All platforms | Unlimited executions and regions | Unlimited | API, custom reports, success manager |
| Full-Service | Custom | All platforms | Unlimited | Unlimited | Strategy sessions, content, citation outreach, account manager |
The page says annual billing saves $600 a year, but the month-to-month figure was not shown on the version we read, so we do not quote one. The pricing FAQ says to contact sales for pricing while the same page shows $249.
What works
The revenue reconciliation. Matching GA4 sessions from AI platforms to Shopify orders is the report a DTC founder actually wants, and Geostar makes it part of the service.
Bot monitoring on the cheapest plan. Lite includes the agent analytics view, so you see which AI bots reach which pages from day one.
Client-friendly terms. Cancel with 30 days notice, keep every piece of content and schema work, approve and roll back PDP changes. Geostar's dashboard layers on GA4 rather than replacing it.
What to check before paying
Lite is thin for the money. Three engines, one region and 30 days of history is not enough to read a trend, let alone a seasonal one.
Engine lists disagree. llms.txt names ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. The pricing table names Google AIO, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and custom platforms, with no Gemini row.
Enterprise and Full-Service prices are not published. Neither is the monthly Lite price.
Homepage results are anonymous quotes ("Apparel, $24M GMV") with no named clients. The comparison table against Shopify apps and GEO dashboards is Geostar's own. Treat both as vendor claims.
The /agency page still carries older platform copy, and the service pages are built around Shopify. Other ecommerce platforms get less detail.
Where it falls short of a full AI visibility platform
As software, Lite leaves gaps a growing brand will hit within a quarter. No Gemini or Claude on the entry plan. One region, so a brand selling in the US and UK cannot compare them. Thirty days of history. The agent analytics view is not documented in detail: no named log sources or bots on the pages we read. And the revenue reporting is a service deliverable, not a self-serve feature you can run yourself.
When Promptwatch is the better buy
If you want to keep the work in-house, Promptwatch is the stronger tool at almost the same price. Professional is $245 a month, against Lite's $249 billed yearly:
| Geostar Lite | Promptwatch Professional | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $249/mo billed yearly | $245/mo (annual: 12 months for the price of 10) |
| Engines | 3 | All tracked LLMs |
| Volume | 6,000 prompt executions | 150 prompts, 18,000 responses |
| Geography | 1 region | Country, state and city |
| Crawler data | Agent analytics, sources not named | 25M crawler logs, named CDN sources |
| AI traffic | Via the managed service | 1M visitor events with conversions |
| Content | Via Full-Service | 15 AEO articles via Content Agents |
For ecommerce specifically, Promptwatch tracks ChatGPT Shopping and sponsored placements through Ads Radar. Citation analytics shows which pages, domains, Reddit threads and YouTube videos AI cites. Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot visits from Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN or custom HTTP.
One honest caveat for Shopify stores: Promptwatch's Content Agents publish to Webflow, Framer and WordPress. Shopify is not on that list, so a Shopify store would copy drafts across by hand or run its blog on one of those three.
Verdict
Geostar the agency: a sensible hire for a Shopify brand that wants the work done and measured in orders. Geostar the software: thin at $249. Brands that want to run GEO themselves get more from Promptwatch Professional for less, and brands that hire Geostar can still use Promptwatch to check the agency's numbers.
