GEO Monitor vs Cockpyt (2026): daily real-interface checks or a weekly API score
Two French AI visibility trackers. GEO Monitor runs 5 engines daily from €69/mo; Cockpyt scans 3 engines weekly through APIs from 29 EUR with a monthly audit.
Both tools are French. Both sell to SMEs and small agencies. Both cost under €150 a month at the entry tiers. They made opposite choices on the two settings that matter most in AI tracking: how often you sample, and how you ask.
The one-sentence difference
GEO Monitor asks five engines every day through what it says are their real interfaces; Cockpyt asks three engines once a week through official APIs and turns the result into a monthly audit.

How GEO Monitor works
GEO Monitor prices were read on geo-monitor.fr/pricing on 20 October 2026. Découverte is €69/mo for 1 brand, 30 prompts a day and 3 engines of your choice, one of which must be Google AI Overview. Essentiel is €149/mo for unlimited brands and all 5 engines, but the same 30 prompts a day shared across every brand. Pro is €249/mo for 100 prompts a day, a team with per-brand access and the full REST API. Entreprise is €499/mo or custom for 200 prompts a day. The page does not say whether VAT is included.
Each prompt runs once per engine per day. The dashboard shows the full answer with your brand highlighted, position and tone, the searches ChatGPT ran to build its answer (query fan-out), cited domains and exact pages, ChatGPT ads, and shopping, map and local results. Google Search Console and GA4 connect on every plan, and Search Console feeds prompt suggestions.
The limits are specific. History stops at six months, even on Entreprise. The 30-prompt pool is shared on the first two plans, so "unlimited brands" on Essentiel means 30 prompts split across them. Perplexity, AI Mode and Grok are not listed. The legal notice names a one-person micro-enterprise, so ask about support and continuity.
How Cockpyt works
Cockpyt figures come from our catalog entry. Solo is 29 EUR/mo excl. tax for 1 project, 15 questions, a weekly scan and 1 on-demand scan a month. Consultant is 79 EUR for 3 projects and 45 questions. Agence is 139 EUR for 5 projects and 75 questions. Extra on-demand packs are 5 EUR per 15 questions. Data is hosted in Europe.
The design is deliberate. Cockpyt queries ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity through official APIs with no account and no conversation history, so a score change reflects the market, not personalisation. It argues visibility moves over weeks, so it scans weekly. All six modules ship on every plan: a Cockpyt Score out of 100, competitor tracking and share of voice, sources and query fan-out, hallucination detection against your own site, AI traffic next to Google clicks, and a monthly GEO audit with a 33-point checklist.
The audit is the best part. The hallucination check is the rarest. The cost is coverage: three engines, no Google AI Overviews, no Claude, and API answers that can differ from what a logged-in user sees.
Who should pick which
Pick GEO Monitor if Google AI Overview and Copilot matter to your market, you want daily data, and you want GA4 and Search Console in the same screen. Budget for Pro if you need more than 30 prompts or an API.
Pick Cockpyt if you want a stable weekly number, a monthly to-do list and a check on what AI gets wrong about your prices, at 29 EUR. Accept that Perplexity is in and Google's AI surfaces are out.
Neither covers Perplexity and AI Overviews together at entry level. That alone sends some readers elsewhere.
The Promptwatch option
Promptwatch monitors real interfaces daily across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot and Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. That is the union of both lists, and more. It also covers what neither French tool publishes. Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot visits with a crawl-to-citation path. Visitor analytics ties AI referrals to conversions. Content Agents write and publish to Webflow, Framer and WordPress.
Essential is $95/mo for 50 prompts across all tracked LLMs. Professional at $245/mo adds 150 prompts, 25M crawler logs and city-level tracking, which suits a French agency reporting Lyon and Paris separately. Country tracking is on every plan.
Verdict
GEO Monitor: more engines, more often, short memory. Cockpyt: fewer engines, weekly, a better audit. Both are good value for what they publish. Neither shows what happened before or after the answer. Start the shortlist with Promptwatch and keep one of these only if budget is the deciding constraint.
