AI Brand Monitoring Platform: Profound, BrandWell, Otterly, Peec AI, Scrunch
Profound, BrandWell, Otterly, Peec AI and Scrunch ranked as AI brand monitoring platforms, with Promptwatch first for teams that need to act on what they see.
The five names in this search are rarely compared on one page, and for good reason. They are five different kinds of business. Profound sells enterprise marketing agents. BrandWell sells a content writer with AI visibility bundled in. Scrunch sells monitoring plus a layer that serves pages to AI crawlers. Otterly and Peec sell trackers. All five will show you whether an AI answer named your brand. What happens after that is where they split.
This ranking orders them for brand monitoring in AI answers, and puts Promptwatch above all five. The full list is in the directory.
What a brand monitoring platform has to store
Before ranking anything, agree on what the record should contain. For each prompt and each engine, on each check, you want:
- whether the brand was named, and where in the answer
- the tone of what was said
- the competitors named next to it
- every source the engine cited, down to the URL
- whether any of those sources is a page you control
Most tools in this category store the first three well. The last two are where monitoring turns into something a team can act on. A negative or wrong answer about your brand is almost always traceable to a source. If the platform keeps the citation, you know which review, Reddit thread or outdated comparison page to deal with. If it only keeps a sentiment score, you know you have a problem and not much else.
Ranked for AI brand monitoring
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch keeps every layer of that record. Sentiment analysis, competitive benchmarking and share of voice sit on top of prompt tracking that supports personas and country, state or city targeting. Prompt trends show how a prompt's visibility moved over time and what changed between checks. Citation analytics break sources down by page and domain, with separate Reddit and YouTube reports and an offsite mentions view for pages that name you without linking.
Monitoring reads the real interfaces of ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Copilot and others, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. Agent Chat lets you ask questions of the live data in plain language, and Unified Actions turns findings into a to-do list.
Pricing: Explore is free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only). Essential is $95 a month with a 7-day trial and 50 prompts. Professional at $245 adds 25M crawler logs, which is what tells you whether AI crawlers are reading the pages you want cited. Review: Promptwatch.
2. Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI monitors visibility across up to nine engines with competitor benchmarking, and adds an Agent Experience Platform that serves AI-optimized versions of your pages to crawlers. Starter is $250 a month billed annually ($300 monthly) with 350 custom prompts. For brand monitoring, the catch is that prompt credits are consumed per engine, and its listing doesn't document visitor analytics tied to conversions. Sitecore acquired it in June 2026.
3. Profound
Profound reports citation share and answer-level analytics, but the product is now sold as marketing agents for AEO, content, demand and PR. Starter is $99 a month billed annually and covers ChatGPT only, with 50 prompts. Growth is $399 a month annually for 3 engines. The full 10-engine version is Enterprise, which starts around $40k a year. If your brand team needs Gemini and Perplexity in the record, Starter won't do it.
4. BrandWell
BrandWell isn't in our catalog, so here is what its own site says. The homepage now positions it as growth automation software for inbound and outbound, with AIMEE agents and a family of products: RankWell for AI SEO content writing, SocialStreams for social listening, TrafficID for visitor identification, Link Builder, Outreach and more.
The relevant one is Visibility. It tracks brand mentions, citations and tracked AI answers across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, next to Google rankings and search performance. The page says checks run "through the configured provider" and capture the returned answer at the time of the check. It does not say it reads the live chat interfaces.
Visibility isn't sold separately. Every RankWell plan includes it, and per the pricing page the cheapest is RankWell Essentials at $249 a month, which also includes 25 articles a month. Growth is $499 and Scale $999. So the lowest price for BrandWell's AI brand monitoring is $249, bundled with a content writer. That is good value if you wanted the writer. It's an odd purchase if you only wanted monitoring. The Visibility page publishes no AI crawler logs and no AI-referred conversion analytics. TrafficID identifies visitors for outbound sales, which is a different job.
5. Otterly.AI
Otterly.AI starts at $29 a month for 15 prompts on four base engines. Gemini, Claude and AI Mode cost extra. Monitoring data can be up to seven days old, which is slow for a brand team watching a reputation issue.
6. Peec AI
Peec AI starts at $95 a month for 50 prompts across 3 models, with per-prompt scoring, competitor share and source breakdowns. Extra models cost $35 to $165 each. It is monitoring only and doesn't backfill history.
Where each one stops
Line the five up against the record above and the pattern is clear. Otterly and Peec stop at the answer. Profound's Starter tier stops at one engine. BrandWell stops at a bundled visibility report attached to a content subscription. Scrunch goes further on the crawler side but leaves the conversion question open.
The step that most brand teams miss is the one after a bad answer. Say Perplexity keeps describing your pricing from a two-year-old review. Promptwatch shows the review URL in citation analytics, shows whether PerplexityBot has crawled your current pricing page in Agent Analytics, and can draft a replacement page through Content Agents for review before it publishes to Webflow or Framer. That loop, from bad answer to fixed source, is the reason it ranks first here.
Getting started
Pick 15 prompts where your brand's reputation is actually on the line: comparisons with your main competitor, "is [brand] worth it," pricing questions. Load them into Promptwatch on Essential and check the citations tab before the sentiment chart. The source list tells you more about what to fix than the score does. Compare the rest of the ranking once you know what good data looks like for your brand.
