Addlly AI vs Writesonic GEO (2026): scoped engagement or self-serve writer

Addlly AI scopes an audit plus monthly GEO content with no public price. Writesonic GEO publishes prices but tracks 3 engines below Enterprise. Query maths, content output and the gaps.

The one-line difference: Addlly AI sells GEO as a scoped engagement, an audit plus a monthly stream of content with no published price, while Writesonic GEO sells a self-serve subscription with published prices but only three tracked engines below Enterprise.

Both are content-first. Both put the article writer at the centre and the tracking around it. That makes the measurement the weak side of each, which is what this site ranks on. We benchmark both against Promptwatch.

How Addlly AI works

Addlly sells part software, part service. Every engagement starts with a managed baseline audit: query and cluster design, citation forensics, sentiment, competitor checks and an AI Visibility Score. Ongoing plans then track a fixed query set across any five engines you pick (it names ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews) and deliver optimized content each month.

Basic covers up to 200 total queries across 5 engines and 10 content pieces a month. Pro covers up to 1,000 total queries, 25 pieces, a product detail page citation audit and optimization for 10 product pages. Enterprise removes the engine cap, runs 300+ queries per engine per market and adds custom agents for YouTube scripts, Reddit and Quora. One-time team training on Pro starts at $1,500. Singapore SMEs can use a PSG-supported program from SGD 292 a month. Those are the only prices shown.

Read the query maths carefully. The FAQ explains that each engine runs the full set, so Basic's 200 is 40 queries per engine across five. The pricing page also describes Basic twice, once as managed end to end and once as self-serve. No CMS integration is named; the FAQ says your team can handle publishing. The homepage cites SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, and its case-study results and comparison against Profound, Goodie and AthenaHQ are vendor material.

How Writesonic GEO works

Writesonic layered a GEO suite onto its AI writing platform. The catalog lists Brand Presence, Topic Explorer, sentiment and prompt volume data, with an Action Center for recommendations and a GEO Writer that drafts content meant to be cited.

Pricing is public. Starter is $79 a month on annual billing ($99 monthly) for 15 articles, 50 prompts and 3 engines. Basic is $199 annual ($249 monthly) for 25 articles and 100 prompts, with email-only support. Growth is $399 annual ($499 monthly) for 50 articles and 200 prompts. Enterprise is custom and adds Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Grok, AI Mode and the Action Center.

So the three self-serve engines are ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, even though Writesonic markets ten-plus engines overall. The Action Center, the feature that turns data into a to-do list, is Enterprise only. The GEO data shows you appeared in an answer, not why or which page earned it. Our catalog entry also notes complaints on Trustpilot and Reddit about charges after cancelling, so read the cancellation terms before you subscribe.

Who should pick which

Pick Addlly if you would rather buy GEO as a managed program than run a tool, you sell through a large product catalogue, or you operate in Southeast Asia. Get the audit fee and the monthly fee in writing, and ask how often the query set is re-run.

Pick Writesonic GEO if you want to start today on a card, produce 15 to 50 articles a month, and can live with three engines.

Pick neither if you need to know which page earned a citation, whether AI crawlers fetched it, or what the traffic was worth.

The Promptwatch option

Both tools write. Neither publishes crawler logs or conversion tracking, and only Addlly lets you choose five engines without an Enterprise contract.

Promptwatch covers the loop from tracking to content with published plans. Essential at $95 a month runs 50 prompts across all tracked LLMs with 6,000 responses, daily refresh and 5 AEO articles. Professional at $245 a month runs 150 prompts, 15 articles and adds Agent Analytics crawler logs with a crawl-to-citation path. Business at $579 a month runs 350 prompts and 30 articles.

The content side is Content Agents: gap analysis picks the topics, agents write, a review inbox holds drafts, and approved pages publish to Webflow, Framer or WordPress. Citation analytics shows the page, domain, Reddit thread or YouTube video an answer cited, which is the "why" both rivals leave out. Visitor analytics ties AI-referred sessions to conversions.

Promptwatch does not list product-page audits. If PDP optimization is the main job, Addlly's Pro plan is built for it.

Verdict

Addlly: real service, opaque price, small query sets for the likely spend. Writesonic GEO: easy to buy, narrow on engines below Enterprise. For a team that wants to run GEO in-house with numbers it can defend, Promptwatch is the better first evaluation.
