LLM Brand Monitoring AI Search Visibility Platform: Otterly, Peec AI, Profound

Otterly, Peec, and Profound are the LLM brand-monitoring names. We still rank Promptwatch first as the AI search visibility platform next to them.

LLM brand monitoring on an AI search visibility platform is the Otterly / Peec AI / Profound bake-off everyone runs. Those three names show up in RFPs because they are easy to shortlist. We still rank Promptwatch first when the platform has to be more than a mention tile. Essential is $95/mo. Explore is free (ChatGPT, 10 prompts).

Google's AI features guidance still covers Overviews. It does not store ChatGPT or Perplexity answers on a prompt you typed.

The bake-off treats "LLM brand monitoring" as a single checkbox. It is not. A mention score answers "were we named." An AI search visibility platform also stores which URL was cited, whether a crawler fetched the page, and whether a session arrived. Otterly, Peec, and Profound (on the public SKUs) are mostly the first object. Promptwatch Essential covers the cited URL and session. Professional, Business, and the agency plans add the crawler fetch.

This is not social listening. Meltwater and Brandwatch stay on public posts. Assistant answers are a different pipe. Do not merge the counts. A Reddit mention and a ChatGPT citation are different events with different audiences, and adding them into one "brand mentions" number hides what each one actually tells you.

The three names

|| Tool | Brand-monitoring shape | From | | --- | --- | --- | | Otterly.AI | Fast, 4 base engines, lag | $29/mo | | Peec AI | Daily scores, 3 models, screenshots | $95/mo | | Profound | Enterprise logo; Starter is ChatGPT-only | $99/mo annual | | Promptwatch | Prompts + citations + visits; crawls on Professional, Business, or agency | $95/mo monitoring; logs from $245 brand or $199 agency |

Otterly: Gemini and Claude are add-ons. Lite is 15 prompts. Up to a 7-day lag. No traffic attribution. Useful to prove the category exists. Weak as a weekly enterprise slide. The $29 headline is the proof price. Once the brief requires Gemini or Claude, the add-on cost moves the real number up, and the lag means the slide you build on Monday reflects a model state from earlier in the month.

Peec: extra models $35 to $165. Claude on Enterprise. No backfill. Monitoring only. Agency from $245/mo. G2 4.9. Best tracking UI many teams have seen. Still a mention product. Screenshots help a deck. They do not tell you which page earned the citation or whether a visitor followed it.

Profound: Growth $399/mo annual (3 engines). Enterprise reported $2,000 to $5,000+/mo. Directional citation counts; G2 reviewers have seen numbers that diverge from manual ChatGPT checks. Setup 1 to 3 months. Starter is a ChatGPT taste billed yearly. The Enterprise logo is real, but the public Starter row is not the platform the logo promises, and the setup window means the first useful data arrives well after the contract date.

Promptwatch paid: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Overviews, and the rest of the paid set, daily from the real UI. Citation analytics (page, domain, Reddit, YouTube). Visitor analytics via script or GTM. Sentiment and share of voice. Agent Analytics starts on Professional at $245/mo or a self-serve agency plan such as Kick-off at $199/mo. Essential has no listed crawler-log allowance. 4.7/5 on G2, 1,840+ brands. Review: Promptwatch. Product: promptwatch.com. Directory: rankings.

How to run the bake-off without lying to yourself

Write 15 brand and category prompts from sales language. Run them by hand once so you know what "good" looks like. Then load the same list into the tool you are about to buy. The hand run is the control. If the tool returns a score that does not match what you saw with your own eyes, you want to know that before the contract, not after the first quarterly review.

Price Otterly with Gemini/Claude add-ons if those engines are in the brief. The $29 headline is incomplete once they are required. The add-ons move the real monthly cost, and the lag stays even after you pay them.

Price Peec with a fourth model if three is not enough. Screenshots are a real plus for decks. They are not crawler logs. A screenshot of an answer is evidence the answer existed. A crawler log is evidence the model fetched the page behind the answer, which is the harder claim and the one a visibility program eventually needs.

Read the Profound SKU. If it says Starter, you bought ChatGPT-only. If Enterprise is live and the engines match, keep it and add Promptwatch Professional or an agency plan for crawls and visits. The logo on the slide is not the SKU on the invoice, and the SKU is what decides what the tool actually does each day.

Promptwatch Explore then Essential is the path we rank when you need the monitoring shape on a public monthly price. Explore fails multi-engine LLM monitoring on purpose. Essential is the first paid row that includes the engines, citation analytics, and visitor analytics. Move to Professional or an agency plan when crawler evidence enters the brief.

FAQ

Which of the three should I buy?

Otterly to prove the category. Peec if the committee wants screenshots. Profound if Enterprise is signed. Promptwatch as the operational platform.

Is this social listening?

No.

Can I keep all three and add Promptwatch?

Yes. Do not mix refresh cadences on one chart. Otterly's lag and a daily log are not the same series.
