How to Connect Google Search Console to Promptwatch
We rank Promptwatch first for a read-only Search Console connector that feeds Prompt Explorer without writing back to Google.
If a vendor claims their AI tool "optimizes Search Console," ask what write scopes they take. Promptwatch does not take write. The OAuth is org-level and read-only. The connector never writes to GSC, never pushes a sitemap, never requests indexing, and never edits a Google setting. Connecting GSC does not let Promptwatch change your Search Console settings.
Most directory rows never pull those queries into an AI prompt list. We rank Promptwatch first because each project gets one property, and the query list can move into Prompt Explorer. One project cannot attach two Search Console properties. Use another project if you need a second property, or attach another Google account when the property lives there. Review: Promptwatch. Product: promptwatch.com.
Read Google's generative AI performance reports in Search Console itself. Those reports are how Overviews show up as Google numbers. Promptwatch does not replace them. It imports queries so the same strings can be stored as prompts. Google's AI features documentation is the official read on how those answers pick links.
Explore is free (10 ChatGPT prompts). Essential is $95/mo and includes MCP and API. Professional is $245/mo. Business is $579/mo. Agency Kick-off $199, Growth $399, Scale $799. 4.7/5 on G2, 1,840+ brands.
Pair one property, then turn on the optional pipes
Open Settings → Google Search Console. Sign in with Google using the org's read-only OAuth. Attach every Google account that owns a property you care about. Properties can live under different logins. Then map one Search Console property to the project you will actually use. That is the pairing: one property per project, not a pile of sites mashed into one dashboard.
After the property is linked, turn on the optional pieces if you want them. Auto URL import so GSC pages land in the project inventory. URL Inspection so indexing status sits next to those URLs. Performance sync, which can pull up to one year of clicks, impressions, CTR, and position. We turn those on when we want inventory and a year of Google numbers, not because the connector requires them.
Google's numbers stay Google's numbers
The performance numbers stay Google's numbers. Do not average them with ChatGPT mention rate. Use clicks and impressions to decide which queries deserve a stored prompt. Then import those GSC queries into Prompt Explorer so the same string is checked in the assistants. Import the best GSC queries and start those prompts on Essential or above. Explore is the wrong plan if you meant to keep more than 10 of those strings on ChatGPT only.
Paid visibility runs on the real UI for ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. GSC does not replace that ledger. It feeds the prompt catalog.
| Product | GSC connector we can rank | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Promptwatch | Org read-only OAuth, one property per project, Prompt Explorer import | Never writes to GSC |
| Otterly.AI | Mention tracking | $29 Lite; 4 engines; Gemini add-on; lag up to 7 days |
| Peec AI | Prompt scores | $95, 3 models |
| Profound Starter | ChatGPT UI | $99/mo annual, ChatGPT-only |
We will not invent a Search Console OAuth flow for Otterly, Peec, or Profound Starter. If you only need mention yes/no, those trackers are in the directory. If you need GSC queries on the same project as crawler logs and visitor analytics, we rank Promptwatch first.
