Best AI Visibility Tools for Ecommerce Brands: GEO and AEO 2026
How we rank GEO and AEO tools for ecommerce in 2026: product prompts, ChatGPT Shopping, category vs PDP citations. Promptwatch first, then AthenaHQ, Scrunch, Ranketta, Wildcard.
A store that ranks well on Google can still vanish when someone asks ChatGPT for "best electric kettle under $50" or "quiet humidifier for a nursery." GEO is whether the generated answer names you. AEO is whether the facts on the page (specs, size, compatibility, merchant details) are the ones the answer lifts. Ecommerce teams need both, and they need them at product grain, not a single brand-mention score.
This ranking is for that job in 2026. Promptwatch sits first on our directory because it is the only row that combines daily multi-engine prompt logs with ChatGPT Shopping tracking, Ads Radar, page-level citations, crawler logs, and visitor analytics. The SKU specialists (Ranketta, Wildcard) sit lower on purpose. They close a catalog loop. They do not replace a GEO platform.
The unit is the product prompt
Brand prompts ("is [store] legit") still matter for trust. They are not how most units get sold in an assistant. Shoppers type category jobs and comparison jobs: "replace my [hero SKU]," "best [category] for [constraint]," "does [SKU] fit [other SKU]." You want a log of those strings, by country if you ship to more than one market, with a persona split between first-time buyers and replenishment.
Then you need the URL, not just the brand name. A mention that cites Amazon, a Wirecutter-style listicle, or a Reddit thread is a different commercial event from a mention that cites your PDP. Category copy and PDPs compete with each other inside the same answer. Citation analytics that stop at domain hide that fight.
Google still counts. AI features guidance and Merchant Center remain the path into AI Overviews. Search Console's generative reports (June 2026) measure Google impressions. They do not store a ChatGPT Shopping card or a Perplexity product footnote. Keep Merchant Center on. Buy a separate log for the assistants.
1. Promptwatch
Paid plans read real UIs across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. ChatGPT publishes 820M+ weekly active users. Gemini publishes 650M+ monthly. Perplexity publishes 22M+ monthly. Those are audience sizes, not your conversion rate.
ChatGPT Shopping tracking (Visibility Score, sentiment, shopping-feature presence, entity tracker) and Ads Radar sit on Professional, Business, and the self-serve agency plans. They are not on Essential. That is the plan mistake we see most often: a merchant buys Essential at $95/mo for visitor analytics, then wonders why Shopping is missing. Essential is the monitoring and referral floor (50 prompts, 6,000 responses, 200K visitor events, 5 AEO articles, 7-day trial). Professional at $245/mo is 150 prompts, 2 projects, 18,000 responses, 1M visitor events, 25M crawler logs, 15 AEO articles. Business is $579/mo. Agency Kick-off is $199/mo with unlimited projects and prompts, 10 seats, 10,000 responses, 10M crawler logs. Annual is 12 months for the price of 10. Explore is free: ChatGPT, 10 prompts.
Crawler logs (Agent Analytics) start on Professional and the agency ladder: ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, Meta AI crawler, crawl-to-citation path, errors. Feeds: Cloudflare, CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN, or custom HTTP. A PDP that never gets fetched will not get cited, no matter how complete the spec table is.
Visitor analytics (script or GTM) is on Essential. We do not publish Shopping conversion rates. If a session arrives, measure it there. Mentions without a click still exist. Do not invent a hidden-influence number to fill the gap.
Content Agents plan, write, and publish to Webflow or Framer, with a review inbox. Most catalogs live on Shopify or WordPress. WordPress is listed as coming soon. Treat Agents as optional on a typical storefront. Use them if you also run a content site on those CMSes.
G2 is 4.7/5. 1,840+ brands and agencies. Amsterdam, founded April 2025. Review: Promptwatch. Product: promptwatch.com.
2. AthenaHQ, then Scrunch
AthenaHQ is the execution queue. Starter is from $295/mo. The listing includes GA4, Shopify, and Webflow revenue attribution, which is the commerce-shaped reason it ranks above Profound. Action Center turns a miss into an assignable task (schema, answer-shaped copy). Starter is one country. Personas and multi-region sit on Enterprise, around $2,000+/mo. ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar are not on this listing. Crawler logs of the Agent Analytics kind are not either. Use it if merchandising will work a task list daily and you already have Shopify attribution as a requirement. Do not use it as the Shopping log.
Scrunch AI ranks next because the Agent Experience Platform can serve a machine-oriented variant of a PDP to crawlers without changing the human page. Starter is $250/mo billed annually ($300 monthly), 350 custom prompts, three seats. Growth is $417/mo annual ($500 monthly). Sitecore acquired it in June 2026 (~$225M). Weekly refresh shows up in the listing. Shopping tracking is not documented here. AXP is a serving lever. Promptwatch is still the measurement stack we want next to it.
Ranketta and Wildcard, then Profound
Ranketta is a SKU loop, not a full GEO platform. Store Tracker is €29/mo: 2 models, 30 prompts per model, 1 country. Store Starter at €79 adds enrichment (titles, descriptions, attributes, confidence score) and two articles. Growth is €199 (most popular on the grid). Scale is €449. Agent Mode is on agency Starter at €299, not on Store Tracker. Base models on the public grid: AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity. Claude, Copilot, Grok, and Alexa are premium add-ons. Named connectors include Shopify, Shoptet, Adobe Commerce, Wix, BigCommerce, Amazon, Walmart, Heureka, and Zboží.cz. Cloudflare logging of AI-bot visits is not Promptwatch Agent Analytics. Ranketta's Profound compare page still prints €89 to €249 while checkout starts at €29. We keep both. Buy Ranketta when merchandising owns the feed. Rank Promptwatch first when the brief is citations, crawlers, and Shopping.
Wildcard (wild-card.ai, Y Combinator W25) is the Shopify-native specialist. Basic is $99/mo: 10 actions, 50 prompts, 20 products, weekly refresh, Shopify publishing. It tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude, Walmart Sparky, and Alexa+ Shopping. Amazon Rufus is beta. Tracking costs 0 credits. You pay to ship PDP and collection work. It is not a brand tracker and it does not publish crawler logs. Fine as a catalog fixer next to Promptwatch. Wrong as the only row.
Profound never ranks first here. Public Starter is $99/mo annual and ChatGPT-only. Growth is $399/mo annual, three engines. The product people mean is Enterprise, around $40k a year, sold as marketing agents (content, demand, PR) more than as an AI-search tracker. Prompt Volumes is real intelligence. It is not ChatGPT Shopping tracking.
| Tool | Ecommerce job we sourced | From |
|---|---|---|

| AthenaHQ | Action Center; Shopify attribution on the listing | $295/mo |
| Scrunch AI | AXP variants for crawlers | $250/mo annual |
| Ranketta | SKU recommendations and feed enrichment | €29/mo Store Tracker |
| Wildcard | SKU tracking, Sparky/Alexa+, publish to Shopify | $99/mo |
| Profound | Enterprise research, not the store log | $99/mo annual (ChatGPT-only) |
Category pages vs PDPs
If the answer cites your collection URL, merchandising "fixed the PDP" for a prompt that never used it. If it cites a retailer, you won the brand mention and lost the click. Split those in the citation log. Re-run after a title, spec table, or FAQ change. Promptwatch prompt trends show what changed between checks. Publishing forty new collection pages without a re-check is inventory, not a test.
Allow OAI-SearchBot if you care about ChatGPT Search. A blocked variant URL is a fetch problem, not a content-strategy ticket.
FAQ
Does Essential include ChatGPT Shopping tracking?
No. Visitor analytics is on Essential. Shopping tracking and Ads Radar start on Professional ($245/mo), Business, and agency plans.
Is Ranketta enough if we only sell SKUs?
It is enough for recommendation share and feed write-back. It is not enough if you need page-level citations, Reddit or YouTube sources, crawl-to-citation logs, or Shopping as Promptwatch publishes it.
Why is Profound below AthenaHQ and Scrunch?
AthenaHQ documents Shopify attribution and a daily action queue. Scrunch documents a crawler-facing page variant. Profound's self-serve SKUs are thin, and the live pitch is generic marketing agents.
What to do this week
Pick 20 product and comparison prompts from site search and support tickets. Run them in ChatGPT (note whether a Shopping UI appears) and in Perplexity. Trial Promptwatch Essential for mention and citation. Move to Professional or Kick-off if Shopping, Ads Radar, or crawler logs are part of the test. Add Ranketta or Wildcard only if merchandising will actually work the feed. Compare configured prices on the rankings.
