AI Search Visibility for Ecommerce Brands: GEO and AEO Tool Reviews
Short reviews of GEO and AEO tools for stores and D2C brands: a verdict for each, which plan a shop actually needs, and what to test during the trial.
This is the review-card version of our ecommerce coverage. If you want the ranked roundup with the full argument about product prompts and category pages, read our ecommerce GEO and AEO ranking. This page is for the next step: you've got a shortlist and a trial window, and you need to know what to check before the card gets charged.
Each review below gives a verdict, the plan a store realistically needs, and a trial checklist. The order is our leaderboard order for stores and D2C brands. The full catalog sits on the directory.
How we scored tools for stores
Store teams care about different things than a SaaS marketing team does. We weighted five:
- Product-shaped prompts ("best [category] under [price]", "[product] vs [product]") tracked per engine.
- Shopping surfaces, not just chat text: ChatGPT Shopping and sponsored placements.
- Revenue: AI-referred sessions joined to orders or conversions.
- Catalog or content fixes the tool can actually ship.
- The real monthly price at store scale, including add-ons.
1. Promptwatch
Verdict: the broadest stack for a store, as long as you buy the right plan.
Promptwatch covers the brand and category layer that SKU tools skip. Prompt tracking runs across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, and more, with country and city targeting for multi-market shops. Citation analytics show whether an answer cited your product page, a marketplace, or a review site. Visitor analytics (script or GTM template) ties AI-referred sessions to conversions. The ecommerce-specific pieces are ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar, which watches for sponsored placements inside AI answers.
Plan a store needs: Professional at $245/mo. ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar sit on Professional and the agency plans, not on Essential. Professional also brings 150 prompts, 1M visitor events, and 25M crawler logs. Essential at $95/mo works if you only want mentions and referral conversions.
Where it drops points: Content Agents publish to Webflow and Framer, with WordPress listed as coming soon. Most stores run on other platforms, so treat the publishing side as a drafting tool unless your content site lives on one of those.
Test in the first month: Essential has a 7-day trial, so use that week for the mention and referral side. Load 20 product and comparison prompts from your site search logs and check which answers cite a marketplace or a review site instead of your product page. Install the visitor script on your top product pages and confirm AI sessions reach checkout events. Once you're on Professional, add the Shopping view and check which of those prompts show a Shopping experience at all, and whether a competitor's sponsored placement shows up in Ads Radar.
2. AthenaHQ
Verdict: the best action queue for a merchandising team, metered by credits.
AthenaHQ lists GA4, Shopify, and Webflow revenue attribution and an Action Center that turns visibility gaps into tasks such as schema generation. Starter is $295/mo ($245 annual) for nine engines.
Where it drops points: credit-based usage (one credit per AI response), a single country on Starter, and personas and multi-region on Enterprise, reported around $2,000+/mo. ChatGPT Shopping tracking isn't on the listing.
Test in the trial: the free Essential tier gives roughly 300 credits. Run your product prompts on two engines and count how many credits a week of checks burns. Multiply by your real catalog before you commit.
3. Scrunch AI
Verdict: interesting for large catalogs, slow for testing.
Scrunch AI can serve AI-optimized page variants to crawlers through its Agent Experience Platform without changing the page shoppers see. Starter is $250/mo annual with 350 custom prompts.
Where it drops points: weekly refresh, per-engine credit burn, and reporting that G2 reviewers on the listing export to Excel. It was acquired by Sitecore in June 2026.
Test in the trial: ask for a demo of the variant served for one product page, and check how long a change takes to show up in tracking.
4. Wildcard
Verdict: the most commerce-native tool here, built for Shopify.
Wildcard syncs your catalog, tracks SKU and collection rankings across ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude, Walmart Sparky, and Alexa+ Shopping (Amazon Rufus in beta), and publishes PDP and collection fixes to Shopify after approval. Revenue attribution runs to add-to-carts, checkouts, and revenue by platform. Basic is $99/mo.
Where it drops points: Basic refreshes weekly and includes 10 actions and 20 products. API and export are Enterprise-only. It publishes no crawler logs.
Test in the trial: connect the catalog, then check whether your 20 hero products cover the prompts that actually matter. Product add-ons cost $0.50 down to $0.30 each.
5. Ranketta
Verdict: SKU tracking and feed enrichment for merchants, not a GEO platform.
Ranketta tracks which products win AI recommendations and rewrites titles, descriptions, and attributes with a confidence score. Store Tracker is €29/mo (2 models, 30 prompts per model, 1 country). Enrichment starts at Store Starter, €79/mo. Connectors include Shopify, Shoptet, Adobe Commerce, Wix, BigCommerce, Amazon, and Walmart.
Where it drops points: Claude, Copilot, Grok, and Alexa are premium add-ons. Agent Mode is an agency-tier feature. Its compare pages quote €89 to €249 while checkout starts at €29.
Test in the trial: Ranketta lists a 7-day store and brand trial. Tracker doesn't include enrichment, so ask whether the trial lets you see Starter's enrichment output. Read ten rewritten product titles before you let anything write back to the feed.
6. Goodie AI
Verdict: content edits for DTC brands, with thin independent validation.
Goodie AI grades pages for AI extractability and recommends specific edits. Explorer is $399/mo for three engines and 100 prompts. Amazon Rufus coverage appears on the quote-only Pro tier.
Where it drops points: few independent reviews, quote-only upper tiers, no crawler logs.
Test in the trial: the listing reports conflicting information on whether a trial exists. Ask before booking the demo.
7. Profound
Verdict: an enterprise marketing-agent program, not a store tool.
Profound Starter is $99/mo annual and ChatGPT only. Growth is $399/mo annual for three engines. Enterprise contracts start around $40k a year. Its Prompt Volumes dataset is real demand data, but nothing on the listing is commerce-specific.
Last: Otterly.AI and Peec AI
Otterly.AI and Peec AI are brand mention trackers. Neither listing documents revenue attribution or shopping surfaces. Use either one only as a cheap mention baseline.
The recommendation
Most store shortlists we see mix two jobs. One is "where does AI recommend us, and does that traffic buy?" The other is "fix our product data." The first is a platform job and the second is a feed job. Buying a feed tool for the first job is why so many stores end up with SKU scores and no idea which assistant actually sends orders.
For the platform job, start with Promptwatch on Professional, because ChatGPT Shopping tracking, Ads Radar, and conversion-tracked visitor analytics only come together at that tier. Citation analytics then tell you whether to fix your own product page or chase the marketplace and review pages the engines prefer. Add Wildcard or Ranketta if merchandising will actually work a product feed every week. Plans and the Essential trial are at promptwatch.com.
