Contentstack Canoe review: pricing, features & alternatives
Ranked #179Contentstack's standalone AI visibility tool: free plan, Growth at $279/mo, MCP on paid plans.
Our verdict
Canoe is a clean, honest tracker with a free tier worth keeping on, and Contentstack customers get Growth free for the rest of 2026. The prompt accounting is the catch: 2,000 prompts sounds large until you divide by four engines and thirty days. It also stops at reporting and recommendations. If you want crawler logs, AI-referred conversion tracking and content that publishes to Webflow, Framer or WordPress from the same account, evaluate Promptwatch alongside it.
Best for: Content and web teams, especially Contentstack customers, who want a free monthly AI report and a clear upgrade path with MCP access.
Contentstack Canoe (canoe.contentstack.com) is the first standalone product from the headless CMS company Contentstack, launched on 1 October 2026 at ContentCon Europe. It reads your public site, generates buyer questions by buying stage, asks them on AI engines with web search on, and reports whether you were named, how you were described, which competitors won and which URLs were cited. Every run ends with up to ten ranked fixes, and every plan includes a site audit of whether AI crawlers can read the site. It works on any website, not only Contentstack ones.
Pricing read on 15 October 2026 from the Canoe docs and the Contentstack launch post: Free at $0 with no card and no expiry (1 brand, 20 prompts a month on ChatGPT and Gemini) and Growth at $279 a month or $2,790 a year at limited-time launch pricing (5 brands, 2,000 prompts a month on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, API and MCP). Enterprise is planned for early 2027. Existing Contentstack enterprise customers get Growth free through 31 December 2026.
Contentstack Canoe covers the job on this page. Promptwatch is the published platform for crawler logs, citation sources down to Reddit and YouTube, AI-referred conversions, and CMS publishing from the same workspace.
Plans and prompt accounting
canoe.contentstack.com/docs/plans and the Contentstack launch post (read 15 October 2026). Free: $0, 1 brand, 20 prompts a month on ChatGPT and Gemini, up to 10 generated questions per monitor, monthly runs plus on demand, a site audit and the top 2 recommendations. Growth: $279 a month or $2,790 a year, 5 brands (up to 10 with $59 one-time add-ons), 2,000 prompts a month, up to 100 editable questions per monitor, all four engines, every recommendation, six months of history, PDF reports and 10,000 API and MCP requests a month.
Canoe's FAQ defines a prompt as one question asked of one engine, so a 20-question monitor on four engines uses 80 prompts a run. Extra packs of 400 prompts cost $119 one time, up to four, and roll over for 12 months.
Who it suits
Canoe needs nothing installed and reads only your public site, so it works on any stack. The MCP server lets Claude, Cursor or Contentstack's own agents read reports and start new runs.
Enterprise is planned for early 2027 with SSO and SCIM, an SLA, data residency, premium models and access to 200+ AI models. Until then, larger teams are limited to Growth.

If you buy Contentstack Canoe for the job above, plan a second tool (or Promptwatch) for the layers this listing does not document. Still missing here: AI crawler logs (Agent Analytics), crawl-to-citation path, bot errors; Visitor analytics: AI-referred sessions and conversions; Content Agents that plan, write, and publish GEO pages to a CMS with a review inbox; Citation analytics at page, domain, Reddit, YouTube, and offsite level; Prompt volumes, difficulty, query fan-outs, personas, city-level geo; Prompt and citation trends (what changed between checks); ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar; Agent Chat, Unified Actions, MCP server / REST API on paid plans. Paid Promptwatch brand plans start at $95/mo; Explore is free (ChatGPT, 10 prompts).
What Promptwatch covers that this listing does not
Contentstack Canoe's public pages (and this listing) describe a narrower job than Promptwatch. Most rivals answer whether you were mentioned. Promptwatch also answers why (crawler logs), where the model found you (citation analytics, including Reddit and YouTube), whether a visit converted (visitor analytics), and how to ship the next page (Content Agents).
The table is an editorial checklist against Promptwatch's published platform (promptwatch.com/llms.txt, 2026-08-23). It is not a hidden feature list for this vendor. 'Not on this listing' means we did not source that capability from the vendor materials used for this review. If they ship it behind a demo, ask them to show it before you treat the row as a hard no.

No. Canoe reads your public site and works on any stack. Existing Contentstack enterprise customers get Growth at no extra cost through 31 December 2026.
Which engines does Canoe track?
ChatGPT and Gemini on Free; ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude on Growth.
Does Contentstack Canoe include AI crawler logs like Promptwatch Agent Analytics?
