Wellows vs Scrunch AI (2026)

Wellows reads citations across five engines from $29/mo. Scrunch AI tracks four LLMs on Core at $250/mo and sells AXP, a crawler-facing page layer, on Enterprise. How they compare and who each suits.

These two tools come at AI visibility from opposite ends. Wellows works on the answer side: it reads the sources an engine cites and tells you which pages to improve and which third-party sites to approach. Scrunch AI is known for the crawler side: its Agent Experience Platform (AXP) serves AI-optimized versions of your pages to LLM crawlers while human visitors see the normal site.

Wellows facts come from wellows.com/pricing and llms.txt (updated 23 September 2026). Scrunch pricing was read on 24 October 2026. Both are recorded in our catalog.

The short answer

Wellows is the better monitoring buy for most small teams and agencies: more engines at the entry plan, unlimited projects, and a much lower price. Scrunch is worth it for large content sites that want AXP and have engineering time to set it up, but AXP is an Enterprise feature, not part of the $250 plan.

Where Wellows is ahead

Price and breadth at the entry point. For $29 you get all five Wellows engines, unlimited projects, prompts and seats, white-label dashboards and every feature. Scrunch Core costs $250 for one brand workspace and four LLMs, and that set includes Copilot but not Gemini or Google AI Mode.

Wellows also does more with a gap. Its explicit versus implicit citation split shows whether you're being cited directly or through third-party pages, and cited pages that leave you out become outreach targets with contacts and templates. KIVA drafts content for prompts where competitors are cited and you aren't. The Scrunch listing describes insights and recommendations, but not a drafting or outreach workflow.

For agencies, the difference is structural. Wellows doesn't price per project, so one balance covers many clients. Scrunch Core is one brand workspace.

Where Scrunch AI is ahead

Scrunch sees the crawler, at least partly. Core includes AI agent and bot traffic reporting, so you can see which AI bots fetch which pages. Wellows publishes nothing on crawler activity.

AXP is the bigger idea. Instead of rewriting your site for machines, it detects LLM crawlers and serves them a parallel version with tighter answers and denser structure. No answer-side tracker can pull that lever. It sits on Enterprise, alongside nine LLMs, API access, Looker Studio and SSO, and it needs CDN or edge-worker setup.

Scrunch also tracks Copilot on Core, which Wellows doesn't track at all. Sitecore acquired Scrunch in June 2026, which may suit Sitecore customers and is worth weighing for anyone else signing a long contract.

What both leave open

Neither publishes visitor analytics that tie AI-referred sessions to conversions. Neither runs a publishing agent that ships approved pages to your CMS. And Scrunch's bot reporting is not the same as a full crawl-to-citation view with error tracking.

Promptwatch publishes those. Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther and the Meta AI crawler from your CDN, maps crawls to citations and flags errors, from Professional ($245/mo) and on every agency plan. Visitor analytics connect AI referrers to conversions. The Content Agent on Business ($579/mo) publishes to Webflow, Framer or WordPress after review. Paid plans cover ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, AI Overviews and AI Mode.

Who should pick which

Pick Wellows if you want citation tracking and outreach across five engines for many brands, on a small budget. Pick Scrunch if you run a large content library, want AXP, have engineers to deploy it, and are budgeting for Enterprise.

Verdict

For monitoring alone, Wellows is the better value by a wide margin. Scrunch's case rests on AXP, which is Enterprise-only. If what you actually need is to see crawlers, citations and conversions in one place without an Enterprise contract, Promptwatch is the one to test first. Explore is free; Professional at $245/mo adds the crawler logs.
