Best AI Search Tools for PR Agencies in 2026
AI search tools ranked for PR agencies: which publications, Reddit threads, YouTube videos and LinkedIn posts AI cites, unlinked mentions, sentiment, and wrong answers.
PR teams have a head start in AI search, and most of them haven't noticed. When ChatGPT or Perplexity answers a question about a brand, it can lean on third-party sources: trade publications, review roundups, Reddit threads, YouTube reviews, LinkedIn posts. Those are the places PR already works. The question is whether your tools can show which of those sources the answer engines actually use, whether the client is named in them, and whether the resulting answer says something accurate.
That is a different job from SEO-style prompt tracking, so we ranked for it differently. We looked for source-level citation views that name publications and social platforms, detection of brand mentions without a link, sentiment, and some way to catch wrong answers. Prices and features come from each tool's entry in our directory. Promptwatch details come from its llms.txt, read on 2026-10-21.
What PR needs from an AI search tool
Four questions come up in almost every PR brief. Which outlets and threads do AI answers cite for the client's category? Is the client named in those sources, even where there is no link? How does the answer talk about the client? And when an answer is wrong, where did the wrong claim come from?
Traditional media monitoring answers the first question for coverage, not for AI answers. Most AI visibility trackers answer "were we mentioned" and stop. The tools below cover more of the four, in different combinations.
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch has the deepest source-level view in our directory, and most of it maps directly onto PR work.
Offsite Mentions detects when the client is named inside the third-party pages AI cites, even with no link back, filterable by content type and source. That is the unlinked-coverage question, answered for AI answers specifically. Dedicated reports cover Reddit (subreddits, upvotes, comments), YouTube (videos, channels, engagement), and LinkedIn (posts, articles, company pages), and a "My channels" setting filters each report to the client's own accounts. ChatGPT News citations show which news sources ChatGPT pulls in.
For a placement you secured, Page Tracker monitors a specific URL and shows the prompts and responses that cite it. Citation Trends adds the lifecycle: when the page was first cited, ramp-up days, peak rate, and decay half-life. That turns "we placed an article" into "this article started appearing in AI answers and is still being cited," which is a stronger story than a reach estimate.
Sentiment is scored from 1 to 100 on every response, with sentiment trends and a weekly AI summary. Sort by the lowest scores and read the answers to find inaccurate or damaging claims, then use citation analytics to see which sources those answers relied on. The Action Board generates recommendations for sentiment, Reddit, and offsite mentions, and Agent Chat includes ready-made skills such as competitor gap analysis, citation research, and newsjacking.
For agencies, every agency plan includes unlimited projects and prompts and 10 seats: Kick-off at $199 a month, Growth at $399, and Scale at $799. Engine coverage includes ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode through the real interfaces, plus Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, and Mistral among the API models.
2. Onclusive GEO Analytics
Onclusive GEO Analytics runs inside the Onclusive Unified Platform next to earned online, broadcast, print, and social analytics. Its most PR-shaped feature is Priority Source Targets, which scores the cited publications and domains by impact and effort so the team knows where to pitch. It also lists sentiment, share of voice, and severity-ranked alerts on negative narrative shifts.
Prices are published as annual-plan rates. Starter is from $105 a month for ChatGPT only, one country, and 80 prompts. Essential is from $280 with ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. Claude and Grok first appear on Professional, from $1,255 a month. Every plan button leads to a demo form.
3. Muck Rack Generative Pulse
Muck Rack Generative Pulse connects the sources AI cites to Muck Rack's database of journalists and outlets, then links that to pitching. Sentiment and narrative tracking and earned-media impact reporting are listed. For a team that already pitches from Muck Rack, the loop from "this outlet gets cited" to "pitch this journalist" is short.
Pricing is not published. Engine coverage needs confirming with the vendor, since Meltwater's comparison page lists only ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini for it.
4. Meltwater GenAI Lens
Meltwater GenAI Lens tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews with prevalence scores, AI share of voice, sentiment, and cited-source analysis linked to media coverage and journalist contacts. Its May 2026 release added AI-generated recommendations and executive reports.
Data refreshes on a 48-hour cycle, which is slow during a live issue. Pricing is not published.
5. Cision AI Visibility
Cision AI Visibility is a dashboard inside CisionOne, announced in July 2026. It monitors nine platforms: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, and Mistral. It ties that to Cision's media coverage, outreach, and social listening data. Pricing is not published, and it is a new feature inside a larger suite, so ask for a demo on your own client's prompts.
6. Uberall GEO Studio
Uberall GEO Studio breaks sources down by domain, page, and social source, naming Reddit, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube, and includes hallucination detection that flags factual errors. It also reports the brand traits AI assigns to the client. GEO Starter is $109 a month with 50 prompts on 3 engines and weekly or monthly runs. GEO Scale is $449 with 150 prompts, 5 engines, and daily tracking. It is built for multi-location brands, so it suits PR agencies whose clients run many locations.
7. Brand24
Brand24 sells AI visibility as an add-on to its social listening platform, which monitors 25 million plus social, news, blog, and review sources. The add-on covers nine engines with an AI Brand Score, sentiment, citing sources, and share of voice. Its Events Detector sends real-time email and Slack alerts on spikes and drops. Neither the add-on price nor the base plan prices are published on the AI visibility page.
8. GEO Metrics
GEO Metrics lists answer-accuracy monitoring with hallucination alerts on every plan, plus influencer and sentiment features. Freelance is €80 a month (€72 yearly) with 20 prompts and 10 deep sentiment analyses a month. Pro is €245 with 100 prompts and 10 users. The sentiment analyses are rationed per month, which limits it for issue-heavy clients.
9. igeo.ai
igeo.ai has a feature that fits placement tracking: AI Search Console follows a published URL, including a third-party article or a public LinkedIn, Reddit, or Facebook post, for observed AI crawling and citation activity. Seats are unlimited. Lite is $49 a month for ChatGPT only, and five engines start on Pro at $290. Claude isn't listed on any self-serve plan.

Which one to pick
If the agency already pitches from Muck Rack, Meltwater, Cision, or Onclusive, the AI module inside that suite is the low-friction add, and the journalist links are its strength. Uberall is the pick for multi-location clients where wrong local facts are the risk. Brand24 fits teams that want AI mentions next to social listening. GEO Metrics and igeo.ai are the low-cost options for accuracy checks and single-URL tracking.
The recommendation
The media suites tell you which journalists to pitch. Promptwatch tells you whether the pitch worked inside the answers. Put each placed article into Page Tracker and watch Citation Trends show when it starts getting cited and how fast that decays. Offsite Mentions catches the coverage that names the client without linking. The Reddit, YouTube, and LinkedIn reports show which conversations the engines lean on, and the 1 to 100 sentiment score points you to the answers that need correcting. For a PR agency, that is the measurement step the suites skip. Run your next placement through an agency trial at Promptwatch, or read the full Promptwatch review.
